Job description

IntroductionAt Emergent Holdings, we’re creating an innovative environment where our employees belong authentically, contribute meaningfully, and thrive intentionally — both personally and professionally.

Overview

The Actuarial Analyst is responsible for performing specific actuarial related tasks under general supervision. Actuarial areas include but are not limited to valuations, financial reporting and forecasting, trend analytics, and pricing.

PAY RANGE: Actual compensation decision relies on the consideration of internal equity, candidate's skills and professional experience, geographic location, market, and other potential factors. It is not standard practice for an offer to be at or near the top of the range, and therefore a reasonable estimate for this role is between $60,000 and $100,600.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine tasks, basic analyses and reasonableness testing.
  • Prepare actuarial exhibits and regular reports as directed utilizing corporate financial data.
  • Learn, use and implement basic programming and maintain analytical programs with limited direction.
  • Utilize data management and structure techniques with limited direction and oversight.
  • With guidance, present completed work and related implication to team members and internal clients.
  • Participate in miscellaneous special projects to obtain exposure to various actuarial disciplines and techniques.
  • Remain current on actuarial techniques, seek development and improvement opportunities and understand corporate/cross-functional objectives and cultural beliefs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science or related area.
  • Zero (0) to one (1) year related actuarial experience.
  • Earned at least one (1) course credit towards the attainment of the ASA designation and is a member, in good standing, of the corporate Actuarial Student Program.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  •  Knowledge of actuarial methods and practices.
  •  Strong analytical, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to apply appropriate planning and prioritization techniques.
  • Other related skills and/or abilities may be required to perform this job.
  •  Strong critical thinking skills.
