Barton Mines Company is actively hiring a Regional Sales Manager in the Chicago, IL region.

Job Summary

  • Prepares regional sales plans and strategies to identify and qualify new sales or business expansion opportunities.
  • Schedules meetings and travels to prospective customer locations to arrange face-to-face appointments and develop excellent rapport to secure future sales. 
  • Maintains contact with existing accounts to provide information on new products and/or services to promote sales, ensure customer satisfaction, and to build positive, ongoing business relationships.
  • Maintains expert technical knowledge of waterjet abrasive requirements, including speed, surface finish, dimensional tolerance, and environmental factors. Understands mechanical aspects of waterjet cutting systems and their replacement parts, including causes of premature failure.
  • Maintains and grows existing customer base by utilizing and maintaining the Customer Relations Management (CRM) and prospect database to manage customer information, corporate sales management approved pricing, calendar, and contact records, and to track, measure, and analyze sales data and activities to proactively manage customers' needs. 
  • Represents company at industry association meetings and trade shows to promote products.
  • Oversees distributor relationships.

The ideal candidate should have:

  • Bachelor's degree in sales, marketing, business, or related field.
  • Five to eight years sales experience, preferably in a manufacturing or distribution industry.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Extensive day and overnight travel (70%), including before/after normal work hours.
  • Computer proficiency including word processing, data entry, spreadsheets, and generating reports using standard software applications.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in person, verbally and written correspondence.
