Responsibilities
The Sales Director reports to the Senior Sales Director and is responsible for product line sales and customer level product satisfaction at a key customer. The position is responsible for product penetration, growth and long-term viability of ASM Front-End products at the key customers' facilities worldwide. To accomplish these responsibilities, the Sales Director will define strategies and tactics to direct the technical, operational and commercial teams in partnership with ASMs Key Product Units (KPUs) to oversee ASM interests in marketing, sales, process performance, hardware/software performance and product evolution.
Job Summary
The primary responsibility for the role is to define and lead the sales strategy of ASM products (systems and upgrades), develop and maintain key relationships and ensure that robust tactical execution is maintained for product lines at a key customer.
The Sales Director position requires close partnership with internal stakeholders including KPU Product Management, Business Development, Sales Operations, Process Development, and the Service & Spares organizations. The role requires the ability to lead the sales effort by identifying and communicating high-value problems, understanding the value proposition of the proposed solution, identifying key decision makers, and aligning the process/hardware/software/spares support organizations to deliver the solution successfully at the customer site. The Sales Director will be responsible for the development of an account strategy that enhances ASM's ability to engage in future technology collaborations, enable incremental sales of our existing product offerings and support after-market solutions for our installation base at a key customer. In addition, the following responsibilities are required:
  • Supports ASM's "safety first" culture throughout the organization.
  • Thinks strategically, with the ability to drive execution across the organization.
  • Primary owner for all contractual and commercial issues between ASM and customer.
  • Facilitates coherent communication between the customer, KPU and support organizations.
  • Represents the product lines as the senior point of contact and commercial interface with the customer.
  • Manages resolution of complex commercial issues in the customer working groups.
  • Develops and maintains a technical proficiency to anticipate customer requirements and applications for future business.
  • Prepare sales and business plans with recommendations to product lines for development opportunities.
  • Manages order book and forecast for the applicable product line(s).
  • Defines product configurations based on customer requirements and solution capabilities.
  • Coordinates shipment dates between the customer and ASM factories.
  • Manages approval of product changes to ensure continued quality of product, spares and service offerings.

Education
Bachelor's or Master's degree in an engineering discipline.
Experience & Skills
  • 10+ years in Account Management, Sales, or related Sales support activities in the Semiconductor Capital Equipment Industry.
  • Account management experience with key customer required.
  • Project management experience required.
  • Previous history of people management.
  • Excellent communication & presentation skills to an executive level.
