Required SkillsStrong organizational, communication, and project management skillsAnalytical skills, attention to detail, and technical knowledge of costs
Work EnvironmentOffice-based, often collaborating with sales and project teamsOffice or on-site, working closely with engineering or production teams
Common UsageUsed in industries like construction, manufacturing, and salesPrimarily in construction, engineering, and manufacturing sectors

Understanding these differences helps organizations assign the right responsibilities and find suitable candidates.

How does a Quote Manager collaborate with sales and procurement teams to ensure accurate and timely quotations?

A Quote Manager works closely with sales teams to understand customer requirements and ensure that all quotes are tailored to client needs and company capabilities. They also liaise with procurement to confirm pricing, availability, and lead times for products or services before finalizing quotes. This cross-departmental collaboration helps prevent errors, ensures competitive and accurate pricing, and streamlines the overall quoting process. Effective communication and strong organizational skills are essential for balancing the demands of both teams while meeting customer deadlines.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Quote Manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Quote Manager, you need expertise in pricing strategy, cost analysis, and a solid understanding of sales processes, often supported by a degree in business or a related field. Familiarity with CRM systems, quoting software (such as Salesforce CPQ or SAP), and proficiency in Excel are typically required. Strong attention to detail, negotiation skills, and effective communication help a Quote Manager build trust with clients and collaborate with internal teams. These skills ensure accurate, competitive quotes that support sales growth and customer satisfaction.

What are Quote Managers?

Quote Managers are professionals responsible for overseeing the process of creating, managing, and delivering price quotes to customers or clients, typically in sales-driven industries. They coordinate with sales teams, suppliers, and other departments to ensure that quotes are accurate, competitive, and align with company policies. Quote Managers often use specialized software to streamline the quoting process, track approvals, and maintain records. Their role is crucial in helping organizations win business and maintain profitability by balancing customer needs with company objectives.

Job description

So what is the role all about?

This role owns NICE's Quote-to-Cash transformation - reigniting and driving to completion a multi-year enterprise program that modernizes how NICE quotes, orders, bills, and recognizes revenue, from initial customer commitment through cash in the bank. It sits inside the Transformation Management Office, working directly with senior Finance, Revenue Operations, and technology leadership to turn a stalled, high-complexity initiative into disciplined forward motion.

This is not a program coordination role, and it's not a status-reporting seat. It's a senior operator with real Quote-to-Cash domain depth - someone who has actually run a CPQ, billing, or revenue recognition transformation, not advised on one from the outside - who can walk into a complex, partially-built program, take ownership of it without needing months to relearn the domain, and drive it to outcomes that materially change how the business runs. If you're the type who gets energized by a program everyone else finds too messy to touch, this is built for you.

How will you make an impact?
  • Own the reactivation of NICE's Quote-to-Cash transformation end-to-end - from Lead-to-Opportunity and Quote-to-Order through Order-to-Fulfill, Invoice-to-Cash, and Revenue & Finance - turning a paused, complex program back into disciplined forward motion
  • Serve as the internal business owner and primary counterpart to the external systems integration partner, holding them accountable to scope, timeline, and outcomes - not just attending their status meetings
  • Operate the existing program governance - program management, business architecture, technology leads, and functional workstream owners - rather than rebuilding it from scratch; this is a restart, not a green-field build
  • Re-engage Finance, IT, Revenue Operations, and functional stakeholders around clear decisions, tradeoffs, and business outcomes, not another round of alignment meetings
  • Give senior sponsors a credible, fact-based read on program status, risk, and delivery confidence - no spin, no sugar-coating
  • Track and report value realization against the outcomes that actually matter: a frictionless customer experience, scalable monetization models, real-time visibility into cloud KPIs, and a materially shorter quote-to-cash cycle
Have you got what it takes?
  • Non-negotiable: Has led or been directly accountable for an enterprise-scale quote-to-cash, CPQ, billing, or revenue recognition transformation - not advisory-only experience. Domain depth matters more here than a consulting pedigree
  • Comfortable owning a large, complex, multi-year program without needing months to get up to speed on the domain
  • A credible counterpart to an external systems integration team and to CIO-level technology leadership - comfortable pushing back on scope, timeline, and delivery assumptions, not just relaying them
  • Has restarted or rescued a stalled transformation before - knows the difference between standing something up from scratch and re-igniting a program that already has scope, vendor relationships, and stakeholders who need to be won back over
  • A translator, not a bureaucrat - turns a stalled, complex enterprise program into forward motion and gives executives a clear, honest view of status, risk, and business case integrity, rather than another status deck
  • Excellent executive communication and the stomach to influence without authority across Finance, IT, Revenue Operations, and executive sponsors who don't report to you
You will have an advantage if you also have:

Experience with Zuora or a comparable monetization, billing, or revenue recognition platform.

Prior experience operating as the business-side executive over a large, systems-integrator-led enterprise build.

A background that blends Finance, Revenue Operations, or IT transformation leadership with genuine order-to-cash or quote-to-cash domain depth - an advanced degree is a nice-to-have here, a track record of actually shipping this kind of transformation is not.

What's in it for you?

Join an ever-growing, market disrupting, global company where the teams - comprised of the best of the best - work in a fast-paced, collaborative, and creative environment. As the market leader, every day at NICE is a chance to learn and grow, and there are endless internal career opportunities across multiple roles, disciplines, domains, and locations. If you are passionate, innovative, and excited to constantly raise the bar, you may just be our next NICEr!
