The Team 

A&M is seeking a Senior Manager, People Systems to lead the operational excellence, continuous improvement, and strategic evolution of our global Workday ecosystem.

This role is responsible for leading a global team of HRIS professionals and ensuring our People Systems platform effectively supports a rapidly growing global organization. As an established Workday customer, A&M continues to expand platform capabilities across HCM, Recruiting, Talent & Performance, Payroll, Benefits, Time Tracking, and Absence while delivering an exceptional employee experience.

The ideal candidate is an experienced Workday leader who combines deep platform expertise with strong operational discipline, people leadership, and a passion for building scalable processes, teams, and technology solutions.

How you will contribute

Lead and Develop a Global People Systems Team

  • Lead, coach, and develop a global team of HRIS analysts responsible for Workday operations and support.
  • Provide leadership and oversight to a globally distributed People Systems team, ensuring alignment on priorities, service quality, and delivery standards.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and professional development.
  • Drive Operational Excellence Across the Workday Platform
  • Own day-to-day HRIS operations and ensure stability, scalability, and performance across the Workday environment.
  • Establish and manage a tiered support model (L1/L2/L3) with clear ownership, escalation paths, service level commitments, and performance metrics.
  • Lead production support activities, including triage, issue resolution, root cause analysis, and continuous service improvement.
  • Manage Workday bi-annual releases, coordinating testing, evaluating new functionality, and driving adoption of platform enhancements.

Shape the Future of People Technology

  • Partner closely with HR, Talent Acquisition, Benefits, Payroll, Finance, IT, and business stakeholders to identify opportunities for optimization and innovation.
  • Drive adoption of new functionality and enhancements that improve user experience, operational efficiency, and business outcomes.
  • Collaborate with the HRIS Implementation Lead, People Technology Architecture Lead, and Integrations team on strategic initiatives and cross-functional projects.
  • Help define scalable processes and governance frameworks that support organizational growth.

Build Strong Stakeholder Partnerships

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders and functional stakeholders.
  • Communicate technical concepts and platform capabilities to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Provide regular updates and insights to leadership regarding operational performance, platform health, risks, and opportunities.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of recent hands-on Workday administration, configuration, and support experience required.
  • 7+ years of HR technology, HRIS, People Systems, or related experience with increasing responsibility, including team leadership.
  • Experience managing or overseeing an offshore or globally distributed team.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and manage SLA frameworks and tiered support models in a complex, high-volume environment.
  • Proven record of managing Workday production support including triage, configuration, and root cause resolution.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills; ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple high-priority tasks and adjust to shifting priorities while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced, growing organization.
  • Comfortable working across global teams and time zones.
  • Self-motivated and able to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Customer service oriented with a demonstrated desire to deliver an excellent experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, HRIS, Business Administration, IT/IS, MIS, or related field preferred.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with ITSM or ticketing tools (e.g. ServiceNow, Jira) a plus.

Provided the eligibility requirements are met, employees will also receive an annual discretionary contribution to their 401(k) retirement savings plan from Alvarez & Marsal. Additionally, employees are eligible for paid time off including vacation, personal days, seventy-two (72) hours of sick time (prorated for part time employees), ten federal holidays, one floating holiday, and parental leave. The salary range is $170,000 - $190,000 annually, dependent on several variables including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography. In addition, A&M offers a discretionary bonus program which is based on a number of factors, including individual and firm performance.  Please ask your recruiter for details.
