A Management Development Program (MDP) is a structured training initiative designed to prepare employees for management roles within an organization. These programs typically combine classroom learning, on-the-job training, mentoring, and rotational assignments to help participants develop leadership, strategic thinking, and people management skills. MDPs are often used by companies to identify and fast-track high-potential employees for future leadership positions. The duration and structure of the program can vary depending on the organization, but the goal is to create a pipeline of qualified managers who understand the company’s culture and operations.

What are the typical career paths after completing a Management Development Program?

Sales Leadership Development Program

Company Overview

Force Factor is on a mission to disrupt the global health and wellness industry by creating innovative health products that help consumers Unleash their Potential. Our vitamins, supplements, and better-for-you foods are scientifically formulated to help create healthier and happier lives for people of all kinds.

Our award-winning products are sold in thousands of retail and eCommerce stores nationwide, including Walmart, Amazon, Walgreens, Target, CVS, The Vitamin Shoppe, Sam's Club and iHerb. More than 50,000 people buy our products daily and that number is growing every month. You have the potential to make a real impact on people's lives by working at Force Factor to create products that Unleash Potential!

Culturally, think of us as an intense, meritocratic, and exciting high-growth startup that has survived and thrived through its first decade of rapid evolution and is now focused on scaling up to conquer the next decade's challenges and opportunities. We've accomplished a lot in our first 17+ years, but fundamentally know that we're just at the beginning of our journey, and that's where you come in! We need the smartest, highest energy people with real integrity who are looking to join an ambitious, hard-working team.

Force Factor is based in Boston's innovative Seaport District. Our team is filled with passionate, dedicated, and inspiring people operating with an ownership mindset (which is easy because we are entirely privately held and plan to stay that way). If you love a challenge, enjoy acting with urgency, and prefer to opt into a high-performance culture, when you join us, you'll feel like you've finally come home. Our private ownership structure is designed for the long term to enable huge opportunities for key team members to learn a ton, work with other A players and generate significant wealth, and we hope you'll choose to help us build an enduring and successful business for decades to come. There are two main reasons we're included on Bain's Insurgent Brands list of high-achieving CPG brands outperforming market growth: our people and our culture.

Program Overview

The Force Factor Sales Leadership Development Program is the opportunity of a lifetime for top college graduates ready to build a career in CPG sales. You will learn from the best, grow with a winning team, and step onto a clear path to owning your own accounts at a growing, privately held brand.

This is not a rotational program with a fixed clock. It is a performance-based runway into a National Account Manager seat. You move when you are ready. Top performers earn account ownership faster. We are a meritocracy. Results decide everything.

You will work side by side with senior sales leaders, build buyer relationships at major national retailers, and learn how Force Factor wins in one of the most competitive categories in CPG. You will sell products that improve lives, in channels that matter, with a team that moves fast and rewards results.

If you have a strong academic record, a sharp mind, presence in a room, and the drive to own real business, you belong here.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support senior sales leaders across food, mass, drug, and specialty retailers, including top national chains, club, and category-leading specialty banners.
  • Build and present data-driven sales stories using syndicated data, retailer portals, and internal sales reporting.
  • Learn forecasting, promotional planning, and post-promo analysis for assigned categories and customers.
  • Develop pricing recommendations, promotional calendars, and planograms that drive sell-through at the shelf.
  • Prepare line reviews, new item presentations, and buyer meeting materials end-to-end.
  • Track competitive activity, category trends, and shopper behavior. Turn insights into action.
  • Partner with marketing, supply chain, and finance to execute the customer plan.
  • Travel to customer headquarters, trade shows, and store visits to learn the business in the market.
  • Present your work to senior leaders and, over time, to buyers. Clear, confident communication is the job.
  • Take on progressively larger account responsibility as you demonstrate readiness, with a clear path to owning your own accounts as a National Account Manager.

Qualifications

  • 0 to 2 years of professional experience. If you are a recent college graduate, we want to hear from you!
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university with a 3.5 GPA or higher.
  • Strong academic track record. Top of your class, honors, dean's list, or equivalent recognition.
  • Excellent verbal communication and executive presence. You can walk into a room, command attention, and tell a clear story with confidence.
  • Excellent written communication. You write with clarity and precision.
  • Track record of high performance in academics, work, athletics, or extracurricular leadership. You compete and you win.
  • Strong analytical skills and comfort with Excel. Curiosity about syndicated data and retailer reporting tools.
  • Ownership mindset, self-motivation, and a results-oriented approach. You move with urgency and follow through.
  • Detail-oriented and organized. You manage multiple priorities without dropping the ball.
  • Hungry to win, coachable, and excited to build a long-term career in CPG sales.
  • Relevant internship experience in CPG, retail, sales, category management, or analytics.
  • Coursework or projects involving consumer behavior, retail, marketing analytics, or sales strategy.
  • Leadership roles in student organizations, athletics, or campus business programs.
