Electrical Apprentice

Classification: Non-Exempt
Reports To: Crew Leader/Supervisor

Build Your Career in the Electrical Trade

We are seeking a dependable, safety-minded Electrical Apprentice who is ready to learn and build a long-term career in the electrical industry. This position combines hands-on field experience with formal training under the guidance of experienced electricians.

You will assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings while developing the skills needed to advance in the trade.

What You’ll Do
  • Assist journeyman electricians and other experienced team members with electrical installations, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Carry, organize, and prepare tools, equipment, and materials for daily work.
  • Participate in classroom instruction and on-the-job training.
  • Learn electrical theory, industry standards, applicable codes, and safe work practices.
  • Perform basic electrical tasks under direct supervision.
  • Clean, inspect, organize, and properly store tools and equipment.
  • Follow all company safety policies and jobsite requirements.
  • Properly use required personal protective equipment, including safety harnesses.
  • Maintain accurate records of training hours, completed tasks, acquired skills, and apprenticeship progress.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and instructors.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned by management.
What We’re Looking For
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Enrollment in, or willingness and eligibility to enroll in, an accredited electrical apprenticeship or vocational training program.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical concepts is helpful but not required.
  • Strong work ethic and genuine willingness to learn.
  • Ability to follow instructions and accept coaching.
  • Dependable attendance and the ability to complete work within required timeframes.
  • Positive attitude and team-oriented approach.
  • Commitment to following all safety procedures and applicable regulations.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to meet company drug- and alcohol-free workplace requirements.
Physical and Work Requirements

This is an active construction position. Applicants must be able to:

  • Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Lift materials weighing up to 50 pounds into an overhead position.
  • Stand, bend, twist, kneel, and climb ladders throughout the work shift.
  • Maintain the balance and dexterity needed to safely navigate construction sites.
  • Work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including extreme heat.
  • Wear a safety harness and other required personal protective equipment.
  • See, hear, and communicate clearly with others on active jobsites.
  • Perform the essential duties of the position safely, with or without reasonable accommodation.
