Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer to join our Managed Service Provider (MSP) support team. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing complex network infrastructures with a strong focus on Palo Alto firewalls (including VM Series in Azure), Aruba switching and wireless solutions, Fortinet security appliances, hybrid connectivity (ExpressRoute and MegaPort), network security, and proactive infrastructure monitoring using LogicMonitor.
The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise, strong troubleshooting skills, and experience delivering secure, resilient, and scalable network solutions across on-premises and cloud environments.
Role Description
  • Design, deploy, and maintain secure and resilient hybrid network solutions based on Palo Alto, Aruba, and Fortinet technologies, including Azure-based infrastructure and ExpressRoute/MegaPort connectivity
  • Design, deploy, and maintain hybrid network solutions encompassing both on-premises and cloud environments, including Azure-based infrastructure and ExpressRoute/MegaPort connectivity
  • Manage, configure, and troubleshoot Palo Alto firewalls (hardware and VM Series in Azure), Fortinet firewalls, and Aruba switching and wireless technologies
  • Configure, monitor, and optimize firewalls, VPNs, and security policies across Palo Alto and Fortinet platforms
  • Administer and optimize network security devices and policies across traditional and cloud network segments, ensuring alignment with security best practices
  • Oversee ExpressRoute and MegaPort connectivity, including configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting of cloud interconnects
  • Monitor network performance and security events using LogicMonitor, proactively addressing alerts and conducting capacity planning
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and resolution of complex network issues across LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, and security platforms
  • Manage network infrastructure projects, including upgrades, migrations, and greenfield deployments, while minimizing client disruption
  • Implement and support wireless solutions, with a focus on Aruba technologies, including site surveys, RF planning, and performance tuning
  • Maintain network documentation, including topology diagrams, configurations, and change logs
  • Conduct network performance monitoring, capacity planning, and proactive risk mitigation
  • Collaborate with client IT teams, vendors, and internal stakeholders to deliver high-quality, client-focused solutions
  • Participate in an on-call rotation and provide escalation support for critical network incidents
  • Remain current on industry trends and best practices, recommending improvements as appropriate

Skill Level Requirements
  • Expert-level hands-on experience with Aruba networking solutions, including switching, routing, SD-WAN, security, and management dashboards
  • Strong experience deploying and managing Palo Alto Networks firewalls (including Panorama and VM Series in Azure)
  • Experience administering Fortinet security appliances, including FortiManager and FortiAnalyzer
  • Proficiency with Aruba wireless solutions, including implementation and management of AI-driven wireless networks
  • Experience designing, configuring, and troubleshooting ExpressRoute and/or MegaPort hybrid cloud connectivity
  • Solid understanding of TCP/IP networking fundamentals, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP), VLANs, VPNs, and network segmentation
  • Experience configuring and troubleshooting Layer 2 and Layer 3 switches, routers, wireless controllers, and firewalls
  • Experience with network monitoring and management tools such as LogicMonitor, SolarWinds, PRTG, Meraki Dashboard, or similar platforms
  • Strong documentation, communication, and customer service skills

Preferred Experience
  • Relevant industry certifications, such as CCNP, Palo Alto PCNSE, Fortinet NSE (4/5/7), Aruba Certified Professional or Expert, Azure Networking, or similar
  • Experience with automation and scripting (Python, Ansible, or similar tools)
  • Experience with SD-WAN and cloud-managed networking solutions
  • ITIL Foundation certification

Other Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience as a Network Engineer or in a similar role within an MSP or enterprise environment
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred, or equivalent work experience
  • Participation in a rotating on-call schedule
  • Must successfully pass a CJIS background check upon hire and annually thereafter

The estimated annual pay range for this position is $110,000 - $140,000 which includes a base salary and bonus. The compensation for this position is dependent on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location and, therefore, will vary from individual to individual. Benefits may include, but are not limited to, medical, vision, dental, 401K, and flexible spending.
