We build camp programs and retreats that give youth and adults the time and space to reconnect with God through fun, worship, and quiet reflection. Our team is community-focused and committed to cheering each other on in our work and personal faith.
The Role
As a Major Gift Officer, you will advance SpringHill's mission by building meaningful relationships with donors and securing the financial support that makes our ministry possible. Your primary focus will be cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding major gifts ($15,000+), while also nurturing mid-level donors ($5,000-$15,000) and engaging new partners who share our vision. You'll manage a focused portfolio of donors and prospects, ensuring each relationship is intentionally developed and aligned with SpringHill's long-term goals.
Key Responsibilities
Fundraising & Relationship Building
  • Manage a portfolio of 80-120 donor households with the capacity to make significant gifts.
  • Proactively identify, cultivate, and solicit new major donor prospects.
  • Personally secure major gifts of $15,000+ and mid-level gifts of $5,000-$15,000.
  • Partner with multiple teams to execute SpringHill's annual fundraising goal (portfolio target of $400K+).
  • Participate in SpringHill's fundraising events, leveraging them for donor engagement and cultivation.
  • Grow estate commitments that secure the ministry's long-term impact.

Engagement & Representation
  • Serve as an ambassador for SpringHill, clearly communicating its mission, vision at donor meetings, special events, camp activities, and fundraising initiatives.
  • Conduct in-person visits, phone calls, electronic, and written communications that deepen donor relationships and encourage generosity, with a goal of meeting in person with each household in your portfolio every year.
  • Attend opening and closing ceremonies during summer and maintain a presence at camp during other months; generally, 1 visit to camp per week.

Collaboration
  • Work closely with the Development Team to align strategies and share insights.
  • Collaborate with SpringHill staff to capture stories and ministry outcomes that inspire donor investment.
  • Support broader fundraising initiatives, including campaigns, events, and appeals, as assigned.

Other Duties
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned to further the organization's mission.
