THE ROLE

   

Coty is seeking a Senior Maintenance & Reliability Manager to lead the Hunt Valley Technical Maintenance organization. This role is accountable for the performance, reliability, and long-term capability of manufacturing equipment and technical systems that enable the site to meet its safety, quality, service, and cost objectives.   

 

Reporting to the Director of Operations, this leader will:

 

  • Provide overall leadership for the Hunt Valley Technical Services organization, driving both daily execution and long-term technical strategy. 
  • Own the maintenance, engineering, and equipment reliability agenda, ensuring sustained performance and continuous improvement across processing, packaging, and automation systems. 
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of hourly technicians and technical resources, building a strong culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous learning. 
  • Ensure robust preventive and predictive maintenance systems, with full ownership for PM strategy, accuracy, optimization, and execution. 
  • Support and optimize the operation and maintenance of manufacturing systems and automation equipment to meet plant and business objectives. 
  • Partner in the specification, purchase, installation, startup, and validation of new equipment and processes to meet product, quality, and manufacturing requirements. 
  • Plan and execute both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities to ensure safe, compliant, and reliable operations. 
  • Own the production maintenance budget, applying disciplined financial management and delivering cost reduction initiatives aligned with annual site targets. 
  • Lead structured root cause analysis and corrective actions to eliminate chronic losses, improve equipment reliability, and extend asset life. 
  • Develop technical capabilities and succession within the maintenance organization to ensure long-term sustainability and reduced reliance on reactive maintenance. 

 

 

 QUALIFICATIONS

 

Required Experience:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or similar discipline required; in lieu of a degree, a high school diploma or equivalent with 15+ years of relevant manufacturing or technical experience will be considered.
  • 5+ years of experience in an FMCG manufacturing environment (food, beauty, personal care, or similar), with exposure to processing and packaging equipment.
  • 2+ years of leadership experience managing maintenance, reliability, or engineering teams, including responsibility for staffing, development, and performance management.
  • Demonstrated experience leading root cause analysis and driving measurable improvements in reliability, cost, and performance.

 

Preferred/Differentiating Experience:

 

  • Experience with factory automation systems design, operation, and maintenance in a GMP environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of FDAregulated manufacturing environments, validation concepts, and equipment lifecycle management.
  • Knowledge of highperformance manufacturing systems, lean manufacturing, and six sigma methodologies.
  • Financial acumen, including standard cost accounting and zerobased budgeting.
  • Experience with SAP, including MRP, production orders, and maintenance transactions
