Leidos' Defense Systems Manufacturing is seeking a Production Control Planner to join our Platform Integration team located in Huntsville, AL.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and highly organized Production Control Planner to lead and manage production control operations that is standardizing production processes across multiple sites in North Alabama. This position plays a key role in coordinating and monitoring production workflows, ensuring that materials, schedules, and work orders are aligned to support on-time delivery for customer programs. The Production Control Planner works closely with manufacturing, supply chain, engineering, and program management teams to manage production execution, resolve material or schedule conflicts, and maintain data accuracy in the ERP system.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Coordinate production workflows across assigned projects, ensuring work orders, materials, and schedules align with customer delivery requirements.
  • Monitor work order status and resolve issues such as engineering changes, material shortages, or schedule conflicts.
  • Interpret and manage MRP action messages to ensure timely planning, rescheduling, or cancellation of work orders and purchase requisitions.
  • Prepare and release work orders, production kits, and integration packages.
  • Maintain data accuracy in ERP (Deltek Costpoint) for work order tracking, WIP, and project alignment.
  • Generate and maintain status reports, dashboards, and Line of Balance (LOB) tracking.
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams to resolve production issues.
  • Support daily/weekly production meetings and provide clear status updates to management.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, AS9100 quality standards, and customer requirements.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, or related field with 2 or more years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Experience in production planning, materials coordination, or manufacturing operations.
  • Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (Deltek Costpoint preferred).
  • Experience interpreting and executing MRP action messages in an ERP system.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills, with ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Must be a resident of or willing to relocate to the Huntsville / North Alabama area.
  • Must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance OR meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Experience in defense or aerospace manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of AS9100 or similar quality systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, reporting tools, or Power BI.
  • Experience supporting ETO or MTO production environments.
