TMS is currently looking for a Maintenance Manager at our Decatur, AL location.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate daily maintenance operations to ensure safe, reliable equipment availability while promoting a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Supervise and schedule maintenance staff in a 24/7 environment; hire, train, and manage team members and contractors.
  • Perform hands-on troubleshooting of mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical systems.
  • Collaborate with Operations to plan and prioritize repairs, including preventive maintenance and capital improvement projects.
  • Develop and implement maintenance policies and procedures; ensure OSHA and company compliance.
  • Manage procurement of tools, supplies, and parts; work with vendors to locate materials and ensure timely repairs.
  • Maintain awareness of operating costs and support budgeting, cost control, and planning for maintenance projects.
  • Maintain accurate records, maintenance logs, and utilize ERP and Microsoft Office systems for documentation, scheduling, and reporting.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience (5+ years) in mobile equipment maintenance management within a heavy industrial environment, preferably in steel manufacturing.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree preferred.
  • Strong electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Welding experience a plus.
  • OSHA 30-hour certification required within the first month.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Must pass drug screening and physical.
