Job description

The Maintenance Planner supporting PPG's Aerospace Business is responsible for developing comprehensive maintenance strategies, detailed job plans, and efficient scheduling to ensure optimal equipment reliability and minimal production disruption. This role focuses on maximizing equipment uptime, optimizing maintenance costs, and ensuring all activities comply with aerospace industry standards and safety regulations. The position will transition from Maximo CMMS to Brightly CMMS platform during the role tenure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, plan, prioritize, and manage preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance work orders using Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

  • Create detailed job plans including step-by-step instructions, required tools, materials, estimated labor hours, and safety precautions specific to aerospace manufacturing equipment

  • Build and manage weekly and daily maintenance schedules

  • Review and validate incoming work requests for accuracy, scope, safety requirements, labor estimates, and parts needs

  • Coordinate assignments and communicate planned downtime with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams

  • Develop, implement, and optimize preventive and predictive maintenance programs to achieve PM completion.

  • Analyze equipment history and CMMS data to adjust PM frequencies and improve asset reliability

  • Identify required spare parts and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) in CMMS

  • Assist with vendor coordination and management.

  • Collaborate with maintenance parts coordinator to ensure proper availability of parts/materials.

  • Maintain accurate CMMS data including equipment records, hierarchies, task lists, and KPIs

  • Close completed work orders with accurate documentation, technician feedback, and failure coding.

  • Analyze downtime trends and chronic failures to develop corrective actions and reliability improvements

  • Ensure all planned work incorporates appropriate safety procedures and supports OSHA compliance

  • Support safety audits and continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications

  • Only US Citizens, Green card holders, political asylees, or refugees are eligible to apply.

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • 3+ years of maintenance planning experience in commercial, industrial, or facilities management environment

  • Aerospace or highly regulated manufacturing industry experience preferred

  • Experience with CMMS platforms and maintenance management software (Maximo preferred)
