Position Summary
The Engineering & Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading all technical activities related to plastic film extrusion operations, including process optimization, product development, quality improvement, equipment reliability, and maintenance team management. The role ensures efficient production of high-quality product while maintaining safety, productivity, and cost-effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
Process & Production Optimization
  • Monitor and optimize processes.
  • Establish and maintain machine settings and process parameters.
  • Improve quality, output rates, and production efficiency.
  • Reduce scrap, waste, and raw material consumption.
  • Analyze production data and implement corrective actions.
  • Support start-up, shutdown, and process stabilization activities.

Technical Leadership
  • Lead and develop technicians.
  • Provide technical support to production, maintenance, and quality teams.
  • Conduct training programs on extrusion technology and troubleshooting.
  • Develop SOPs, work instructions, and best practices.

Product Development & Customer Support
  • Lead product development and product qualification.
  • Develop product for specific customer requirements.
  • Optimize formulations for performance and cost.
  • Support sales and marketing teams with technical expertise.
  • Handle technical customer complaints and provide solutions.

Quality Management
  • Ensure compliance with customer specifications and quality standards.
  • Monitor critical properties such as:
    -Thickness profile
    -Gauge variation
    -Tensile strength
    -Elongation
    -Haze and clarity
    -COF (Coefficient of Friction)
    -Seal strength
    -Dart impact
  • Conduct root-cause analysis for quality deviations.
  • Implement corrective and preventive actions.

Equipment & Maintenance Support
  • Work closely with maintenance teams to maximize equipment uptime.
  • Support troubleshooting of:
    -Extruders
    -Dies
    -Air rings
    -IBC systems
    -Thickness control systems
    -Corona treaters
    -Winders
  • Participate in machinery upgrades and new line installations.
  • Develop preventive maintenance strategies for critical equipment.

Safety & Regulatory Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  • Promote safe handling of materials, additives, and process equipment.
  • Support implementation of relevant standards.
  • Lead risk assessments and safety improvement initiatives.

Continuous Improvement
  • Drive Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, TPM, and Kaizen projects.
  • Improve OEE and reduce downtime.
  • Implement energy-saving and sustainability initiatives.
  • Support digitalization and Industry projects.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required; engineering or technical degree strongly preferred.
  • 6+ years of experience in extrusion manufacturing.
  • 3-5 years in a leadership or managerial position.
  • Experience with troubleshooting process and optimization.
  • Familiarity with automation systems, PLCs, and extrusion controls.
  • Understanding of product testing and laboratory procedures.

Pay Transparency
Salary Range: $102,600-$176,755
The range disclosed complies with applicable state and local pay transparency laws. Offers within this range will be determined by considering relevant factors including education, experience, and internal alignment. This position may also be eligible for annual performance bonuses and other incentive programs. Sealed Air offers a competitive benefits package that includes health, dental, vision, 401(k), paid time off, and other benefits designed to promote well-being.
