POSITION OVERVIEW
Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Manager, Maintenance is responsible for the maintenance and continuous improvement of the manufacturing equipment and facility. This position is also responsible for managing the capital budget, machinery and equipment purchases as well as installation and environmental projects. RS Technologies Inc. ("RS") - RESILIENT STRUCTURES for a reliable grid - is a leading manufacturer specializing in high-performance composite utility structures. Our poles are utilized in transmission, distribution, substation, and communication applications, offering a lighter, more durable, and longer-lasting alternative to wood, steel, and concrete. Since 2003, our poles have served over 500 customers across 30 countries. RESILIENT STRUCTURES operates globally, with manufacturing facilities in Tilbury, Ontario; St. George, Utah; and Houston, Texas, ensuring worldwide distribution of our ultra-resilient poles.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
โ€ข Hire, train and lead the appraisal of skilled trades and engineering support personnel at the facility
โ€ข Lead and manage the Maintenance Department consisting of a Supervisor and 8-10 Maintenance Technicians
โ€ข Assist in developing JHA (Job Hazard Analysis) and LOTO (Lock Out Tag Out) Procedures
โ€ข Manage facility environmental reporting requirements and the safe disposal of waste
Budget and Planning
โ€ข Manage the Capital Budget development process, including project number assignments, timelines, budget status and ROI
โ€ข Manage timelines, vendors, and budgets of approved capital projects including new assets and equipment as required for the Company's continued growth
โ€ข Assist the management team in establishing targets for training, maintenance, efficiency, R&D, staffing and material expenses (Budget)
โ€ข Act as the point of contact for all new equipment purchases and existing equipment changes
โ€ข Coordinate the preventative and predictive maintenance plans and required spare parts inventory
Continuous Improvement
โ€ข Manage facility maintenance and improvement activities; Assist in creating RS Technologies Engineering Standards
โ€ข Assist the Materials Department in the selection and evaluation of equipment, suppliers and mechanical and electrical component vendors
โ€ข Analyze the facility energy usage and costs with continuous improvement in mind; Assist the production team in troubleshooting and solving production and quality problems
โ€ข Participate in the research, trial/development, selection of new processes and equipment to improve the production process
โ€ข Ensure compliance with all Company, Provincial/State and Federal Rules and Regulations
โ€ข Other duties as assigned
TRAINING / QUALIFICATIONS:
โ€ข Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering or related technical field preferred
โ€ข Minimum 4-5 years of experience within a manufacturing/industrial environment
