Job Description

Position Purpose

The Maintenance Manager will develop work plans and manage maintenance projects and records as well as spend time out in the areas of plant operations to study systems and equipment and develop work plans. The Maintenance Manager will direct the plant maintenance mechanics and participate directly in maintenance work execution work plans.  

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Management of employees, materials, spare parts, and supplies to support efficient and effective maintenance projects for the Maintenance Department and Operations Department.
  • Prepare detailed job schedules, providing fully developed work plans for projects and environmental compliance issues.
  • Coordinate labor, parts, materials tools/equipment and access to the equipment. 
  • Job planning includes estimates for labor and materials, reporting on performance against     goals/estimates, maintaining records of maintenance execution, equipment histories and     equipment parts usage, logistical requirements. 
  • Manages Maintenance Projects outsourced to mechanical or electrical vendors and maintains     CMMS database. 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT    

  • The job requires working indoors and outdoors, walking, and some lifting (50 lbs.).
  • Ability to respond to calls during "off hours" and on site if required. 
  • Ability to work greater than 8 hours per day (when required).
Qualifications

Education/Experience/Background:

  • Technical or trade school graduate.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (preferred)
  • 4 years' experience supervising in a plant environment, building, or large facility as a Maintenance Manager or Senior Planner/Scheduler.
  • 4 years' experience leading or supervising a small team of technicians.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Demonstrated experience with instrumentation + control systems for Plant Operations.
  • Experience in a plant, building, or facility maintenance background.
  • Supervisory experience as a Maintenance Manager.
  • Energy & Utilities or Engineering Services (preferred). 
  • Working knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
