Job description

Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Technician to join our team and specialize in mechanical maintenance. The technician will troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues on various machines, including bearing machines, wire cutting machines, shape enders, centerless grinders, and motors. A significant portion of the role involves rebuilding gear boxes, which is a consistent task. The candidate should possess the ability to read manuals for part or bearing replacements and will also work on hydraulic pumps and motors. This role is predominantly mechanical, with minimal electrical tasks, focusing mainly on identifying safe electrical components.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues on machines.
  • Rebuild gear boxes consistently.
  • Work with equipment such as bearing machines, wire cutting machines, and centerless grinders.
  • Read and understand manuals for part replacements.
  • Handle hydraulic pumps and various types of motors.
  • Perform 75% preventive maintenance, 15% reactive maintenance, and 10% project-based tasks.
Essential Skills
  • Mechanical repair experience, specifically on pumps or pneumatic components.
  • Previous preventive maintenance experience, such as greasing bearings.
  • Ability to read blueprints or manuals.
  • Competence in changing out motors.
  • Basic electrical skills to identify safe components.
