Ascent Hospitality is looking for a uniquely qualified hospitality leader to be part of our Maintenance Team!
The maintenance Team Member is responsible for the maintenance and repair of the building and infrastructure including HVAC system and equipment throughout the hotel. This would include: ongoing preventative maintenance projects, renovations, plumbing, painting, sheetrock work, electrical and carpentry. This position may also require the completion of custodial work as necessary while providing optimum service and satisfaction to hotel/restaurant guests and visitors; showing individual performance effectiveness, and following proper security amp; liability measures to protect the assets of the hotel and the Company.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Ability to identify maintenance and repair issues and initiate work orders.
  • Reports and follows up on maintenance deficiencies.
  • Complete work orders and all necessary assigned repairs
  • Performs preventive maintenance and maintains mechanical logs in an organized manner.
  • Resolves guest’s problems and handles all guest requests in a timely manner and according to hotel standards.
  • Complete the duty rounds checklists and corrects noted problems.
  • Responsible for correct use of office equipment, EMS system and Life Safety Systems, (training provided).
  • Willing to be cross-trained in all aspects of the department.
  • Carries out policies and procedures set forth by the Center.
  • Initiates and maintains effective communication with operational areas.

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Previous experience or training in a similar role preferred.
  • Must be organized and have good time management skills.
  • Must have the ability to understand, read, write and speak English and communicate with guests and Team Members of other departments.
  • Must have basic computer skills.
  • Must be able to take direction, understand and carry out instructions given.
  • Must have the ability to comply in standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
  • Must be able to work flexible shifts.
  • Must have excellent customer service skills.
  • Must be able to work without constant supervision.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to stand or walk for long periods of time; use arms, hands and legs repetitively; handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms, talk and hear; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Must be able to at various heights on ladders, roofs etc.
  • May be routinely required to lift and/or move weight up to 50 pounds, and move or lift weight in excess of 50 pounds using the proper equipment and resources.
  • Must be capable of effectively using close vision, distance vision, and color vision.
  • Ability to operate in physically stressful situations
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee often works near moving mechanical parts.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but could become loud from time to time.
  • Must be able to work routinely with various chemicals, cleaning supplies, paint and painting solutions in conjunction with the proper use of safety supplies and equipment.
  • May be frequently exposed to dust or mold.
  • Assigned work may be indoors and /or outdoors and in possible inclement weather.
  • During winter months may be required to shovel snow.
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:
  • High school education or equivalent is required. Some college preferred.
  • Preferred 1 year related experience or training.
  • Must be able to work well in team environment
