Job description

Our Skilled Nursing Facility, located near Bolingbrook, IL is seeking a Maintenance Director who is self-motivated, has previous experience, is organized, and has excellent communication skills. The Maintenance Director will assist us in achieving our mission of growing a quality-oriented and employee-friendly organization.
Maintenance Director Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, interview, and hire personnel to maintain proper staffing levels

  • Oversee the scheduling of staff to ensure uninterrupted facility operations

  • Supervise the purchasing, storage, and distribution of housekeeping, cleaning, and laundry supplies

  • Conduct and oversee fire, disaster, and evacuation drills for all shifts

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Administrator

  • Participate in the Department Head weekend supervisor rotation

  • Be on-call 24/7 to handle facility emergencies and urgent repairs

  • Schedule and oversee life safety inspections, including fire alarms, sprinklers, and generators

  • Ensure the proper operation and maintenance of housekeeping, laundry, dietary, HVAC, and facility equipment

Maintenance Director Qualifications:

  • High school diploma preferred

  • Some business and personnel management training is preferred

  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electricity, heating, and air-conditioning (Licensure or certification in these areas is a plus)

  • Knowledge of OSHA and IDPH regulations related to housekeeping, laundry, and maintenance

  • Strong organizational and leadership skills
