Job Overview

The Shipping & Receiving Clerk handles all shipping and receiving functions of the mail room and delivers copy paper to departments throughout the building.

This is a Part Time role Monday - Friday, 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

This position is located at our Progress Place location in Springdale, Ohio.

What You Will Do

  • Manage mailroom shipping and receiving functions:
  • Receive packages from Mason Post Office via Media Center delivery.
  • Receive packages from Springdale Post Office and intercompany mail via courier.
  • Process incoming packages/overnights: verify shipment details, inspect for visible damage, and follow up with suppliers on discrepancies.
  • Receive dock and in-house supply deliveries.
  • Deliver copy paper and other materials to departments throughout the building.
  • Assist with meeting and special event setups.
  • Manage departmental supply orders, maintain the service request ticketing system, and deliver requested supplies to central locations.
  • Clean and maintain mail carts, hand trucks, flatbeds, electric pallet jack, and forklift.
  • Order, track, and sell stamps to colleagues, maintaining accurate records of transactions.
  • Provide excellent support to colleagues and external contacts.
  • Maintain regular, dependable attendance and punctuality.
  • Set up colleagues for CampusShip access and provide guidance as needed.
  • Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships, and ensures authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities. 
  • In addition to the essential duties mentioned above, other duties may be assigned.

Skills You Will Need

Mailroom & Operational Expertise: Proficiency in shipping and receiving functions, processing packages, handling dock deliveries, and managing departmental supply orders and mailroom equipment.

Customer Service & Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and collaboration skills to interact effectively with colleagues, external contacts, and diverse teams while providing accurate, timely support.

Attention to Detail & Problem-Solving: Ability to verify shipment details, inspect for damage, follow up on discrepancies, and accurately track postage and supplies.

Technical & Computer Skills: Working knowledge of computers, Microsoft Word and Excel; familiarity with Oracle, CampusShip, and Pitney Bowes; ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities.

Adaptability & Initiative: Resourceful self-starter who works independently or as part of a team, able to adjust quickly to changing priorities and business needs.

Reliability & Professionalism: Dependable attendance, punctuality, and professional behavior while interacting with colleagues and external contacts.

Who You Are

  • Candidates with a High School diploma or equivalent are encouraged to apply. 2-4 years of experience preferred.
  • This position requires heavy lifting, constant moving, remaining in a stationary position, and reaching with arms and hands. Involves remaining in a stationary position for at least two consecutive hours, lifting at least 30 lbs. stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders. May involve reaching above eye level. Requires close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment. Able to use mailroom and warehouse equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, and flatbeds, while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule based on department and company needs.
