Description:

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The full-time Accounting Payable Specialist will work alongside our Accounting Department to ensure our organizationโ€™s accounts payables are recorded accurately and timely. The Accounts Payable Specialist must exercise discretion in executing essential functions and be able to work independently, while following through on assignments.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Processes daily mail.
  • Processes invoices for payment through proper approval procedures.
  • Works with vendors and staff to resolve invoice discrepancies. Reviews vendor statements for past due invoices and work with vendors and internal departments to keep accounts current.
  • Serve as backup and assists with running checks as needed.
  • Assists with training staff on using the electronic expense reporting system, and processing of expense reports.
  • Completes monthly and annual financial reports for various departments and entities
  • Maintains grant backup documentation.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

WORK SCHEDULE:

The schedule for this position is generally Monday through Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm, though overtime, evenings, and weekend work will be required depending on the business needs.
