Job description

Story Road | Gwinnett Magazine | Best of Awards
We are looking for a graphic designer who can think creatively and execute professionally.
We produce multi-page print magazines, statewide Best of Awards annuals, digital editions, social graphics, email marketing art, web assets, and the occasional wild idea that starts as a sketch on a legal pad and turns into something real.
If you love both design and production, this might be your spot.
What You’ll Be Doing
• Designing and producing multi-page magazines from concept to final print files
• Laying out editorial features, ads, directories, and award spreads
• Preparing clean, organized files for press and digital distribution
• Creating digital versions of our publications
• Building graphics for email marketing, social media, and web
• Managing projects start to finish with minimal hand-holding
• Protecting and elevating our brand look and feel
We move fast. Deadlines matter. Details matter. But creativity matters too.
What You Need to Bring
• Strong skills in Adobe Creative Suite, especially InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator
• Solid understanding of print production and file prep
• Ability to take a project from blank page to polished finish
• An eye for layout, typography, and clean design
• Experience in magazine production is a big plus
• The ability to balance artistic instinct with production discipline
We are not looking for someone who just “makes it pretty.”
We are looking for someone who understands hierarchy, flow, brand consistency, and how design supports storytelling and business goals.
About Us
We publish Gwinnett Magazine and produce the Best of Awards. We spotlight local businesses, entrepreneurs, leaders, and communities. Print is part of what we do, but we are also building digital platforms, video, podcast, and interactive experiences.
We care about quality.
We care about local business.
We care about doing work that lasts.
The Right Fit
You are creative but organized.
You love clean files and strong layouts.
You can handle multiple projects without melting down.
You take ownership.
You want to grow.
If that sounds like you, send us your portfolio and tell us a little about yourself. Not just what you’ve done, but how you think.
Let’s build something good together.
