We are seeking Material Handlers for All Shifts with our Auburn Hills, MI Plant.

Schedule:

  • 1st Shift: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM (10 hours per day/Monday - Friday)
  • 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM to 1:30 AM (10 hours per day/Monday - Thursday)
  • 3rd Shift: 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM (8 hours per day/Sunday - Thursday)

Position Summary:

Responsible for handling all types of materials coming in and going out, within or near plant, yard, or work site; performs a combination of duties such as, receiving from tracks, manually handling items by operating forklift, Hi-Lo, cart or hand truck, verifies data, and quantities, weights, secures loads, distributes and assure that material handling is being done accordingly to the necessary documentation or instruction including but not limited to work order, verbal instructions or other form of instruction. The Forklift Order Puller/Picker also ensures that materials are placed in their proper locations and are available for use where they are needed. Enter data in the company ERP system as required.

In the performance of duties, the Forklift Order Puller/Picker must observe all safety and operational procedures, including maintaining all required paperwork, safety logs, preventive maintenance logs and checklist to meet quality and delivery expectations.

The material handler must require help from coworkers when handling heavier items since Load pallets and skids may be up to 35 feet long and weigh up a minimum of 35lbs.
Material Handling skills required are universal; from time to time a material handler may be assigned to another area to perform the same essential duties. Job may require overtime and a flexible schedule, reporting early and working late including weekends from time to time.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Handles materials by operating box truck as required, forklift, hi-lo, cart, hand truck or manually observing operational, safety procedures and company policies
  • Loads, unloads, and moves materials within or near plant, yard, or work site, from and onto or to trucks and/or, onto or from pallets, trays, racks or shelves, performing any combination of following duties: Reads work order and related production/material documents including schedules or follows verbal instructions or other form of instruction to ascertain materials or containers to be moved.
  • Receives and stages inbound materials in the “inbound staging area” Verify packing and the packing list against the product received for: Quantity, Quality and ZSi PO
  • Reports discrepancies found with the inbound shipment to the Supply Chain Manager
  • Enter data into company ERP system (Macola) including but not limited to the exact quantity received for any quantity discrepancy
  • Moves the product from the staging area to the designated storage location as indicated in
    Macola on the item master

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • One (1) year of experience with forklift operation in a manufacturing environment required.
  • Hi-Lo Certification preferred.
  • Current certification in forklift operation is strongly preferred.

Physical Demands:

Frequently walking, using hands and fingers to handle or feel, operate, activate, inspect, place, detect, position, grasping or squeezing, stoop, kneel, crunch or crow, climb, talk/hear to communicate, detect, converse with discern, convey, exchange information; see to detect, distinguish, identify, inspect, estimate. Perform frequent repetitive movement, lifting, pushing and pulling, up to X pounds. The material handler must require help from coworkers when handling heavier items since Load pallets and skids may be up to 35 feet long and weigh a minimum of 50lbs.

Work Environment:

Be able to work in a loud, noisy and congested environment. May be expose to extreme temperatures hot and cold, dusty areas, work is performed inside and outside in all weather conditions. The material handler should therefore be dressed in proper protective clothing to protect against extreme temperature conditions.
