Job description

K Machine Industrial Services is a specialized machining and millwright services company focused on the repair of heavy industrial rotating equipment. We have an immediate opening for a qualified individual who has desire to become a part of a fast-paced growing diversified organization.

Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to, the following:

  • Setting up and operating CNC machines (i.e., lathes, mills); ability to read and interpret blueprints, process and/or work instructions, sketches and related technical data to determine tooling requirements, set up procedure, control settings, machining methods and sequences required. Clean up work area daily.
  • Select, load and test program, modify program and make necessary machine feed, speed and axis point adjustment. Set up equipment, install tools and fixtures, make machine control settings, check for required specification and run job. 
  • Monitor machine operation and check parts throughout run and make necessary adjustments to ensure part attain accurate dimensions and quality standards are maintained. Respond to alarm, retrace program to locate problem and make necessary corrections.
  • Use of precision measuring instruments and equipment (i.e., vernier calipers, inside, outside and depth micrometers, height gages, dial indicators, parallel blocks, go-no go gages, thread gages etc.) to attain accurate dimensions and maintain tolerances
  • Working knowledge of most machine shop equipment and machine shop math. 
  • Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures reporting all unsafe activities to Management and/or Human Resources.
  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goal; contribute to building a positive team spirit; communicate effectively with subordinates and management at all levels. Always maintain the highest level of honesty and integrity.
  • Must be willing to work extended hours during our peak season (i.e., Spring/Fall). This may require both days and night shifts.

Position Requirements:

  • Highschool diploma/GED/Apprenticeship classes or trade school.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience; power generation or heavy industrial machine shop experience preferred.
  • Experience in setup and operation of CNC Lathes and Mills.
  • G&M Code programming experience is a major plus
  • Understand and apply machining techniques. Good mechanical aptitude.
