Applied Technical Services, LLC, is a leading provider of critical testing, inspection, certification, and compliance services. The company serves clients across a diverse set of large and stable end markets including manufacturing, power generation, aerospace, medical, and defense. ATS was founded in 1967 and is headquartered in Marietta, GA. Today the Company employs nearly 2,100 team members in over 95 locations across the United States.

Position Summary:

A Project Manager is a professional responsible for planning, executing, and finalizing projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants to deliver projects according to plan. The Project Manager is accountable for the overall success of the project and is the main point of contact for all stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Receive new projects and perform contract review
  • Create work orders through the LIMS software system and distribute test specimens to the labs and machine shop.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers and lab personnel from receipt of samples to completion of testing and reporting.
  • Facilitating team meetings and ensuring team members are on track to meet project goals.
  • Communicating project status and issues to stakeholders and team members.
  • Managing project progress and making adjustments as necessary to ensure successful completion.
  • Developing project plans, including goals, tasks, budget and resource allocation including vendor management
  • Managing project risks and implementing risk management strategies.
  • Identifying and managing project dependencies and critical path.
  • Ensuring project deliverables meet quality standards and are completed on time and within budget.
  • Managing project closeout and post-project evaluation.

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in project management or related role
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to coordinate work and navigate challenges
  • Customer-service oriented with the ability to effectively engage with customer contacts
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Experience managing a budget and handling resource allocation
  • Experience with project management software and tools
  • PMP or other project management certification is a plus.
