About Hilton Mechanical

We are a growing mechanical contractor specializing in industrial piping, skid fabrication, and equipment installation. Our team works on a mix of shop-built systems and field projects, giving employees exposure to a variety of hands-on work. We invest in training and always give our employees the opportunity to expand into new areas of the trade.

Overview

We are seeking Shop Helpers to support pipe fabrication operations at our Gainesville and Alpharetta locations. You'll work alongside journeyman pipefitters, welders, and fusion technicians fabricating both plastic and steel piping systems for commercial and industrial projects.

Candidates must be willing to travel to locations as needed.

Pay Range: $18/hr - $24/hr

Requirements

  • Assist pipefitters and welders with plastic fusion and steel pipe fabrication tasks
  • Handle, measure, cut, and prepare pipe and fittings for fabrication (PP-R, HDPE, carbon steel, stainless)
  • Support operations — staging material, prepping equipment, cleaning fittings, and holding alignment
  • Assist with fit-up and tack operations on steel pipe
  • Load, unload, and organize pipe, fittings, flanges, and spools in the shop yard and storage areas
  • Keep the shop floor clean, organized, and clear of hazards
  • Stage completed spools for delivery and assist with loading
  • Learn shop procedures, safety standards, and fabrication basics on the job
  • Operate and collaborate effectively under foremen
  • Work safely with rigging, lifting equipment, and other work permits

  • Reliable — shows up on time, every day, ready to work
  • Physical ability to lift 50+ lbs, stand for extended periods, and work in a shop environment
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with basic hand tools
  • Willingness to learn
  • Ability to take direction and work as part of a crew
  • Reliable transportation and ability to travel to job sites across Georgia
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively as part of a team
