Job description

We are hiring a Machine Shop Quality Technician in Rochester, NY.

This is a precision machine shop that manufactures tight-tolerance components for the aerospace and defense industries — parts that have to be right every time. As a Quality Technician, you'll be a critical line of defense in a high-mix, low-volume environment where no two days are the same and your eye for detail directly impacts mission-critical products. You'll work closely alongside engineers and machinists and have real ownership over inspection processes.

What you'll do:

  • Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections on machined parts to the highest quality standards
  • Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T callouts, and job specifications with confidence
  • Conduct gage calibration and maintain accurate records in Gage Track software
  • Audit production quality at every phase of manufacture and document findings clearly
  • Partner with engineers and machinists on root cause analysis and continuous improvement
  • Develop and maintain detailed in-process and final inspection reports
  • Support AS9100 / ISO 9001 compliance and participate in internal audits

Requirements

  • 5+ years of quality inspection experience in a machine shop or precision manufacturing environment
  • Solid command of standard measurement tools: calipers, micrometers, CMM, height gauges, etc.
  • Strong blueprint reading skills including GD&T
  • Familiarity with AS9100 / ISO 9001 quality management systems
  • Organized, detail-obsessed, and able to manage multiple inspection queues under deadline pressure
  • High school diploma or equivalent; internal auditing experience is a plus

Benefits

  • Medical, dental & vision
  • 401(k)
  • PTO
  • Day & evening shifts available
