Job description

Adecco is currently hiring a Machine Shop Assistant for our manufacturing client in Victor, NY! This hands-on role supports machining and production operations by assisting with equipment operation, material handling, assembly, finishing, and quality inspections.

Shift: M-F 6am-230pm

Pay: $20–$25/hour

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with operating machine shop equipment, including manual lathes, saws, cutters, and related tools

  • Load and unload materials and parts from machines

  • Perform deburring, cleaning, finishing, and assembly of components

  • Inspect parts and verify dimensions using measuring tools

  • Move raw materials and finished products using appropriate equipment

  • Support shipping, receiving, inventory, and other shop functions as needed

  • Follow safety procedures, work instructions, and quality standards

Qualifications:

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

  • Experience using power tools and shop equipment preferred

  • Mechanical aptitude and manufacturing experience a plus

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequently lift up to 25 lbs. and occasionally up to 50 lbs.

  • Ability to stand, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb as needed

  • Must possess the visual acuity required for machining and inspection tasks
