The Machine Operator is responsible for the operation of a variety of machines used in fabrication and assembly of a range of products. This role ensures compliance with all Burton Mill Solutions policies and procedures in operating machinery, including first level troubleshooting and corrective action to ensure all processes remain within control parameters. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong attention to detail, a proactive work ethic, and a commitment to safety and efficiency in a warehouse environment.

How you add value:
• Learn the process of loading programs to machine from manufacturing order.
• Perform quality checks according to customer request.
• Use measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.) to ensure quality control.
• Set up and adjust swager/shaper according to customer preferences.
• Provide support and training to others as needed.
• Represent the company in a positive, professional manner to avoid reputation risk.
• Perform general cleaning of machines and work area.
• Work with a high sense of urgency.
• Wear all required PPE.
• Actively participate in Lean and Safety training and events.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to speak, read, write, and understand the English language.
• Knowledge of basic arithmetic, including decimals, fractions, and percentages.
• Ability to multitask in a challenging environment and work under pressure.
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
• Demonstrated integrity and teamwork skills.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
• Regularly required to talk, utilize sensory, cognitive, and motor skills.
• Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel, and reach with arms.
• Occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Frequently lift, push, pull, and/or move up to 50 lbs.; occasionally up to 100 lbs. with assistance.
• Ability to stand/walk up to 10 hours per day.
• Ability to work in environments with temperature extremes, noise, vibration, fumes, and airborne particles.
