What Is The Opportunity?

We are currently hiring a Screed Operator for our 2026 Paving division located in Calgary, Alberta.

What You'll Do Here:

  • Operates valves to regulate flow of material at a specified rate.
  • Signals Paving Machine Operator to start and stop paving machine.
  • Observes distribution of material over road surfaces to ensure uniform distribution.
  • Turns handwheels to set angle and depth of screed.
  • Using depth gauge, verifies depth specifications of compacted asphalt.
  • Train new employees in the safe and efficient operation of the paver and screed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You Bring to the Team:

  • Minimum 2 Years Experience operating a screed.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and maintain equipment effectively.
  • Excellent teamwork skills with a focus on communication and collaboration.
  • A valid class 5 driver's license is needed.
  • Ability to work overtime, nightshift and weekends

Pay and Benefits:

Pay Range: $36 - $42 per hour

Individual pay isย determinedย based on several factors, including work location, education, experience, uniqueย skillsย and job conditions. Other considerations may include certifications, specialized training, and the complexity or scope of the role.ย ย
