Job description

Mac Properties is a dynamic and growing private residential real estate company with operations in the metropolitan areas of Chicago, St. Louis, New Jersey, and Kansas City.
We are hiring a Janitor- Groundskeeper!
The Janitor- Groundskeeper role will keep the common areas clean, remove trash, shovel snow and remove trash from the grounds, along with any other light tasks assigned to them by their supervisor. As a result, our Janitors are the front line for showcasing our great properties and assisting residents in a timely and, most important, courteous manner for any custodial needs.
Essential Functions:
  • Maintain leasing office, models, and interior public and common areas of the community in a neat, clean and attractive condition.
  • Maintain all grounds, including sidewalks, public walkways, and stairways, building exteriors, garden areas in a neat, clean and attractive condition.
  • Assisting in efforts to make vacant apartment homes rent-ready in a timely manner; assist in appliance installs and changes.
  • Compact and remove trash and debris from community areas.
  • Snow clearing during winter months; obstruction removal if affecting safety year round such as trash, branches, piles of leaves, etc.
  • Complete assigned cleaning requests and repairs consistent with company operating standards and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain company customer service standards.  Respond to resident requests and work with residents to minimize/resolve problems and complaints.  Follow through to ensure issue is completed to resident’s satisfaction.
  • Apply all applicable Mac policies and procedures such as, but not limited to company operating and safety standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state and local laws, specifically Fair Housing regulations.
Qualifications:
  • Valid driver's license and vehicle. 
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required
  • Previous experience in a janitorial role is a plus but not required
  • Ability to identify cleaning and chemical supplies
  • Ability to frequently transport up to 50 pounds variable distances, the mobility and flexibility to use required equipment and to access and work in restricted spaces or at heights in excess of 8-9 feet
  • Ability to frequently stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and climb (stairs, ladders, etc.)
