IT System AdministratorPosition Summary

A System Administrator is a professional who plays an important role in maintaining organizational policies to ensure the integrity of computer systems. A System Administrator ensures that technology infrastructure runs smoothly and efficiently while meeting company requirements.


Responsibilities
  • Meeting with supervisor to discuss system needs/improvements.
  • Managing Windows, Linux or Mac systems.
  • Troubleshooting operating system issues.
  • Group policy and Active Directory management.
  • Training staff on newly deployed group policies and/or software systems.
  • Fixing hardware and software issues related to system administration.
  • Managing and maintaining virtual environments.
  • Creating, managing, and maintaining virtual machines and servers.
  • Managing and maintaining physical servers.
  • Backup and restore systems as needed.
  • Maintaining server rooms organized and clean.
  • Maintaining monitoring systems (Zabbix, Graylog, etc.).
  • Monitoring systems for failures.
  • Managing and supporting systems through MDM.
  • Managing and supporting endpoints and anti-virus software.
  • Managing and maintaining inventory.
  • Managing system administrator-related projects.
  • Creating and maintaining documentation for procedures, policies, and forms.

Requirements
  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related field.
