Part-time IT Technician (temporary position)

2025-2026 School Year - temp position through 6/30/26


The Clinton Township School District is accepting applications for the position of IT Technician. The successful candidate will assist in the responsibilities to repairing and maintaining computer hardware and related software; resolving immediate operational and/or safety concerns; and procuring and maintaining supplies and materials.
JOB FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
This list below is intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by individuals assigned to this job title.ย  This is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties, and tasks required of personnel so classified.




  1. Provide help desk support to end users by identifying problems, researching answers, and taking corrective steps to reach a resolution.
  2. Identify and coordinate repairs with outside vendors when necessary.
  3. Provide tech support to faculty, staff, and students.
  4. Support all classroom technology including Interactive Boards, Projectors, Printers, Macbooks, iMacs, iPads, PCs, Chromebooks etc.
  5. Assist in technology preparation for state assessments.
  6. Ability to lift 20 lbs and stay on feet for extended periods of time.
  7. Troubleshooting network issues.
  8. Assist in developing "how to" documents to aid staff & technology department.
  9. Supporting Mac OS, Chrome OS, Macbooks, iMacs, iPads, A/V peripherals, MS Office, and Google Apps for Education.
  10. Collaborates with all members of the Technology Information department.
  11. Coordinate and maintain district computer inventory and maintenance/repair records.
  12. Meets professional obligations through efficient work habits such as Service ticket prioritization, meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, and collaborating with staff and administrators.
  13. Configure/Troubleshoot computer hardware/software problems.
  14. Perform any hardware or software upgrades. If applicable, tasks can be performed via MDM.
  15. Perform post-resolution follow-ups to help requests.
  16. Research issues and resolves technical problems.
  17. Implement and maintain operational documentation and procedures.
  18. Complete technical and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of a technical training school; Bachelor's Degree preferred. A combination of work experience and education may be substituted.
  • An aptitude for acquiring skills in technical repairs and an eagerness to learn about all Apple products and other district-owned devices.
  • Apple Certified Mac Technician (ACMT) and Apple Certified iOS Technician (ACiT) Certified preferred.
  • 3+ years supporting Mac OS, Microsoft Windows Server OS, iMacs, Macbooks, iPads, Chromebooks, A/V peripherals, MS Office, and Google Apps for Education preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience with Google Admin GSuite and Microsoft Active Directory preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience with a Mobile Device Manager preferred.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, organizational, multitasking, prioritization, written and oral communication skills.
  • Success in team environments, demonstrating shared responsibility and accountability with other team members.
  • Network troubleshooting experience - connect/troubleshoot device wireless or wired issues.
  • Ability to work independently.


Compensation: $15.92 hourly
