As a remote position, you will engage with clients and team members through advanced telehealth technologies, ensuring a seamless connection and facilitating effective care delivery. • Conduct thorough assessments to evaluate clients’ mental health and substance use issues, with a focus on identifying and understanding co-occurring disorders.
• Work collaboratively with clients to co-create personalized treatment plans, leveraging evidence-based interventions tailored to their distinct needs.
• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions that empower clients to develop essential coping skills, relapse prevention strategies, and emotional regulation techniques.
• Coordinate care and treatment plans with the multidisciplinary team, ensuring that all aspects of a client’s treatment are harmonized and effective.
• Engage in regular substance use monitoring and utilize motivational interviewing techniques to encourage clients on their path to recovery.
• Educate clients and their families about the impactful relationship between mental health and substance use disorders, enhancing their understanding of treatment compliance.
• Maintain detailed and timely documentation of therapeutic progress and interventions, in line with ethical and legal standards.
• Participate in case conferences, staff meetings, and ongoing training to refine skills in the treatment of co-occurring disorders.

You will primarily work with individuals grappling with co-occurring mental health issues and substance use disorders. This includes adults from diverse backgrounds, each facing unique challenges on their recovery journeys. Providing culturally competent care is essential, and you will have the opportunity to affect positive change in the lives of clients by utilizing a person-centered approach to therapy.

• Master’s degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Valid licensure as an LCSW, LPCC, or LMFT in the state of California.
• Strong proficiency in evidence-based therapeutic techniques aimed at addressing co-occurring disorders, such as Integrated Dual Diagnosis Treatment (IDDT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI).
• Deep understanding of the relationship between mental health and substance use disorders, facilitating effective treatment strategies.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, essential for effective collaboration within our interdisciplinary team.

Experience in working with complex cases involving co-occurring disorders is highly desirable, as is familiarity with integrated care models. Previous work in community health settings or with diverse populations can enhance your effectiveness in this role.
