  • Analyze complex shipment, pricing, service, and network data to identify cost and service opportunities and develop actionable carrier sourcing recommendations.
  • Evaluate carrier proposals across line haul, fuel, accessorials, freight classification, minimum charges, service coverage, transit time, and other relevant factors to determine total-cost and service tradeoffs.
  • Develop and communicate sourcing scenarios and recommendations that balance customer requirements, carrier capabilities, operational constraints, service performance, and financial objectives.
  • Partner directly with LTL carriers during sourcing events to clarify requirements, resolve complex pricing or service issues, negotiate commercial opportunities, and facilitate successful bid participation.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen the strategic carrier portfolio by evaluating carrier capabilities, network fit, pricing competitiveness, service performance, and customer requirements.

  • Serve as an LTL subject-matter resource to Operations, Pricing, Sales, Audit, Implementation, and other stakeholders by providing expertise on carrier pricing, service capabilities, contracts, accessorials, freight classification, and sourcing strategy.
  • Proactively identify and resolve complex pricing, implementation, billing, or carrier-related issues, engaging appropriate stakeholders and resources when required.
  • Translate complex transportation data and procurement findings into clear recommendations for customers, internal stakeholders, carriers, and leadership.
  • Share knowledge, analytical approaches, and procurement best practices with other team members and contribute to the continued development of the team's LTL sourcing capabilities.

Basic Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex customer shipment data, lane-level pricing, carrier proposals, accessorial impacts, service requirements, and other variables to develop sourcing recommendations.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to work with medium-to-large datasets, build pricing comparisons, summarize bid results, and identify cost/service tradeoffs.
  • Strong understanding of LTL pricing components, including tariffs, discounts, minimum charges, FAK structures, accessorials, fuel, service coverage, transit considerations, and carrier compliance requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, Transportation, Analytics, or related field.
  • 7+ years of LTL procurement, pricing, carrier sourcing, or transportation analytics experience.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving ability with experience independently resolving complex pricing, sourcing, carrier, or transportation issues.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex analysis into clear findings, recommendations, and risks for internal stakeholders, customers, carriers, and leadership.
