Job description

LTL Operations Specialist

Southern Reins Logistics is a growing freight brokerage with deep roots in LTL, and we're looking for a motivated, detail-oriented individual to join our operations team as an LTL Operations Specialist. This is a ground-floor opportunity to build a career in freight logistics under the direct mentorship of experienced LTL professionals.

You don't need years of experience โ€” you need a hunger to learn, strong communication skills, and the ability to stay sharp in a fast-moving environment. We'll teach you the rest.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate LTL shipments from tender through delivery, ensuring accurate execution at every touchpoint
  • Communicate with carriers and customers to manage pickups, transit updates, and delivery confirmations
  • Enter and maintain shipment data in our TMS (Turvo), ensuring accuracy across all records
  • Identify and resolve service issues including delays, exceptions, and accessorial disputes
  • Support the sales team and customers across all aspects of the LTL lifecycle โ€” quoting, shipment building, booking, tracking, invoice auditing, and claims handling
  • Assist in tracking KPIs and reporting on shipment performance

What we look for:

  • 0โ€“2 years of experience in logistics, freight, or a related field (internship experience counts)
  • Sharp, fast learner who can absorb complex processes quickly and execute with confidence
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously
  • Clear, professional communication โ€” both written and verbal; you can hold your own in a conversation with a carrier, a customer, or a VP
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; TMS experience a plus but not required
  • A willingness to ask the right questions, take ownership, and grow

Our Benefits:

  • Competitive base salary and bonus incentives
  • Comprehensive benefits package: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life/ AD&D Insurance, Short-Term Disability
  • 401(k) with Company Matching
  • Generous PTO + Company Paid Holidays
  • Casual dress code and an energetic team culture.

Ready to Take the Next Step?

If you are a driven, competitive professional looking for a rewarding career in freight brokerage, we encourage you to apply today and become part of the Southern Reins Logistics team!
