Job description

JOB SUMMARY

The Production Supervisor is an essential part of the Supply Chain Solution team, focusing on supporting, and coordinating our production team members. This position plays an important role in leading, scheduling, overseeing job functions, quality, and efficiency during ongoing daily production. In addition, the Production Supervisor is a conduit between teammates in Customer Service and logistics with the goals of customer satisfaction and team development. Presence and providing oversight at the worksite during normal business hours is required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Daily Support
Provide knowledge and support with the operational workflow for new and existing projects; collaborate with SCS leadership team to help streamline daily production. This includes managing POs, material delivery status in Nulogy and other platforms.
Provide direct supervision to the production team, while being accountable for cross training and performance development.
Provide back up for unplanned or planned team absences.
Responsible for direct employee's performances.
Create and implement production management tools such as pre and post checklists, ensuring the production team is trained and prepared to begin production.
Document, manage and communicate an ongoing production schedule. This may include changes or revisions as requested or needed.
Create and oversee employee training and support that nurtures productivity and resource conservation.
Maintain up to date information about each employee's accommodations, skillsets, language requirements, safety, and other workplace needs, proactively advocating for them as needed.
Coordinate staffing to conduct project time studies as requested, offering clear and accurate measured results.
Set up and close out projects in inventory management software (Nulogy).
Maintain inventory management physically and in software (Nulogy).
Coordinate timely 3rd party product quality inspections prior to shipment.

Customer Support
Coordinates with SCS leadership team for new customer onboarding, communicating the production team's capability and availability accurately to meet and create clear customer expectations
Collaborate with the SCS leadership team to ensure daily production orders are received and processed as requested.
Use a proactive and practical approach to ensure customers and the SCS leadership team are well informed, to cultivate successful customer relationships.
Communicate production successes and concerns to the Customer Service Supervisor and Operations Manager as they arise.

Performance Measuring & Problem Solving
Ensure production is performed, and workflow quality control measures are implemented, as requested, and communicated per specifications (i.e., pricing proposal and documented assembly plan)
Resolve production concerns by reviewing information, investigating issues, identifying solutions, recommending action to Operations Manager
Maintain staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees, developing personal growth opportunities.
Utilize a "root cause analysis" tool to correct quality concerns noted during and after production
Seek to improve our customers' production experience
Conduct daily, weekly, and/or monthly meetings with assigned staff
Ability to work independently with confidence and ease

Quality Assurance & Safety
Maintain procedures and documentation for all Quality Systems (including FDA guideline and Oregon Tilth Organic Certification guidelines)
Review all production work scopes.
Monitor usage of resources and software, such as Nulogy, emails to ensure efficiency of operations.
Maintain a professional demeanor that encourages the SCS Production team to learn, grow and be accountable
Ensure production equipment is functional and meets safety criteria


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Two plus years' experience production supervision
One year experience in warehouse environment
Excellent attention to detail
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
Ability to handle multiple deadline-driven projects at once
Ability to work with a with a wide variety of individuals, including adults with disabilities
Ability to work independently with confidence and ease
Ability to lift, carry and stack up to 25-pound boxes routinely and properly
Ability to use forklift and other equipment
Ability to use company vehicle for Relay business preferred
Ability to pass criminal history background check and/or fingerprinting as appropriate at any time during employment
