Job description

Greenwood Mills, Inc., a family-owned textile manufacturing business located in Greenwood, SC that makes cloth for our US Military, employee uniforms, and more! We have been in business for more than 135 years!
Currently seeks motivated employees to help create the fabric we use to make clothing! You will be shown the area with more description during the interview.
Job Objective:
Prepare warp for tying; assist tie-in operator and tie-in fixer with their duties, assist tie-in operator with pulling over new warp getting knots through reed making sure all ends are drawn properly
  • Safely operates weaving machines
  • Transport lease rods, bars, and air hose to loom
  • Find correct warp in storage and transport to loom on warp truck
  • Return empty warps to storage on warp truck
  • Lift heavy weights
  • Replace journal when necessary
  • Clean and lease warp
  • Repair problem warps to avoid reties
  • Help pull over warp until knots are past reed and all ends drawn properly
  • Carry waste and clamps to proper container
  • Remove temples and cutters
  • Assist weavers with major breakouts when time allows
  • Follow safety rules prescribed by plant
  • Must be able to repair warp breaks no matter where they occur
  • Must be able to work safely around moving parts
  • Must be able to step on and off platform
  • Must be able to read basic written instructions
  • Must be able to wear ear plugs, respirator/dust mask, goggles/eye protection, and other protective pieces of equipment
  • Must be able to meet Plant schedules and attendance requirements as specified in Company Policies
  • Must be able to use a step stool
  • Must pay normal attention to job duties required to maintain efficiency and quality
  • Overtime as required

Schedule:
  • 2nd Shift: 4pm-12am

Pay rate: $14.00 Hourly with $1.00 shift premium
