Job description

About The Role:

Meshy is the leading AI 3D generation platform experiencing explosive growth amongst the developer community. Our API lets developers generate production-ready 3D models from text and images in seconds, powering games, VR/AR, e-commerce, and creative workflows.

We're hiring a Developer Experience Manager to stand up and own Meshy's developer ecosystem end-to-end: build communities from the ground up, create technical demos and content showcasing AI-powered 3D generation, and drive API adoption among developers building games, VR worlds, and immersive experiences. You'll also be the feedback bridge between external developers and our product team. This is a high-ownership IC role — you need to be a technical builder who ships code, proficient in tools like 3d tools like Blender or Unity, and already deeply embedded in developer communities.

What You’ll Do:
  • Developer Community & Ecosystem

    • Build and manage Meshy's developer community across Discord, GitHub, X/Twitter, Hacker News, Product Hunt, and game dev / VR/AR forums (Unity, Unreal, Godot, VRChat, WebXR). Stand up Meshy communities across any and all relevant developer-friendly platforms to promote Meshy API.

    • Define community culture — tone, rituals, incentive mechanisms — to drive long-term engagement, healthy feedback cycles, and growth

    • Launch developer ambassador programs to scale advocacy

    • Organize hackathons, game jams, developer contests, and workshops — solo and co-hosted with ecosystem partners

    • Provide frontline developer support across Discord, GitHub Issues, support requests, and docs

  • Technical Content & Demos
    • Build production-grade demo apps and sample projects yourself using Blender, Unity, Unreal, or similar — showcasing real end-to-end 3D workflows with the Meshy API

    • Produce tutorials, blog posts, livestreams, webinars, and video walkthroughs that teach developers to integrate 3D generation into their projects

    • Own and improve Meshy's developer onboarding: API docs, SDKs, quickstart guides, and example repos

  • Advocacy & Evangelism
    • Represent Meshy at conferences and online communities as a credible technical voice; host webinars, livestreams, and live coding sessions

    • Build relationships with developer influencers, indie game developers, and content creators who can amplify reach

  • Feedback Loop & Product Influence
    • Systematically channel developer pain points, feature requests, and friction back to Product and Engineering

    • Build repeatable processes to capture, prioritize, and communicate API feedback

    • Track community health, API adoption metrics, and content performance

What We're Looking For:
  • Builder first: you ship code regularly, have active GitHub projects involving GenAI, and can build production-grade demos and clean API integrations that developers respect
  • 3D tooling proficiency: hands-on with Blender, Unity, or Unreal — you create from a real developer's perspective. You have played with Meshy already in projects.
  • Community builder: 3+ years prior DevRel or DevExp role at a leading developer API company or AI startup with proven experience growing developer communities on Discord, GitHub, X, Reddit, Product Hunt, or Hacker News.
  • Content & events: track record creating technical content (tutorials, demos, live streams, conference talks) and running hackathons or developer events both virtual and in-person
  • AI-native: actively uses AI tools in daily workflows to turbocharge productivity
  • High energy, high output: self-starter who thrives in early-stage environments and executes relentlessly sometimes under ambiguity
Nice To Have:
  • Existing developer following or open-source credibility (GitHub stars, X audience, popular blog/channel)

  • Experience with multiple game engines or 3D frameworks (Unity, Unreal, Godot, WebGL/WebXR, Three.js)

  • Game jam experience (Ludum Dare, Global Game Jam) or VR/AR hackathons

Our Values:
  • Brain: We value intelligence and the pursuit of knowledge. Our team is composed of some of the brightest minds in the industry.
  • Heart: We care deeply about our work, our users, and each other. Empathy and passion drive us forward.
  • Gut: We trust our instincts and are not afraid to take bold risks. Innovation requires courage.
  • Taste: We have a keen eye for quality and aesthetics. Our products are not just functional but also beautiful.
Why Join Meshy?
  • Competitive salary, equity, and benefits package.
  • Opportunity to work with a talented and passionate team at the forefront of AI and 3D technology.
  • Opportunities for fast professional growth and development.
  • An inclusive culture that values creativity, innovation, and collaboration.
  • Unlimited, flexible time off.
Benefits:
  • 401(k) plan for employees.
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • The latest and best office equipment.
Location:

Join our Sunnyvale headquarters! This is a fully in-office position where you will be an integral part of our daily operations. Enjoy a vibrant work environment, daily interactions with leadership, and all the perks of working in the heart of Silicon Valley.
