Job description

Associate Optometrist Opportunity at Long Vision Center

Long Vision Center in Sherman, Texas is seeking an Associate Optometrist to join a well-established practice with deep roots in the community and a long-standing reputation for trusted, patient-centered eye care. Led by Dr. Clint Long, the practice has earned a 4.9 Google rating and is known for its welcoming atmosphere, loyal patient base, and thoughtful approach to helping every patient feel cared for at each visit.

Since 2001, Long Vision Center has provided comprehensive ophthalmology and optometry services in a state-of-the-art setting, giving patients access to medical, surgical, and vision care in one convenient location. Behind that care is a steady, collaborative team with exceptional employee retention, including more than 90% of staff members who have been with the practice for 13 or more years. As an Associate Optometrist, you'll work 24 to 30 hours per week providing comprehensive eye care for patients of all ages. In this role, you'll perform eye examinations, diagnose and manage vision problems and eye diseases, prescribe eyeglasses, contact lenses, and other vision correction solutions, and educate patients on eye health, preventive care, and treatment options. You'll also partner with the team to create a comfortable, positive patient experience and maintain accurate, timely records. The practice typically sees 45 to 55 ophthalmology patients and 20 to 25 optometry patients daily, offering a steady, engaging environment with a meaningful variety of patient needs.

You bring a Doctor of Optometry degree from an accredited institution, a current state optometry license or eligibility for licensure, and experience using electronic health records. Beyond your clinical qualifications, you are a thoughtful, caring clinician who values meaningful patient connections and takes pride in creating a calm, supportive experience from exam to follow-up. With strong communication and interpersonal skills, you enjoy educating patients, answering questions with patience and clarity, and partnering with the team to ensure each person feels informed, comfortable, and genuinely cared for throughout their visit.
