Long-Lewis Auto Group is looking for a Reconditioning Center Automotive Repair Technician to join our team! In this role, you'll inspect, diagnose, repair, and prepare pre-owned vehicles for retail sale within our Reconditioning Center. We're looking for experienced technicians who have developed strong mechanical skills through professional shop experience and formal training or extensive hands-on experience. About the Role:

The Reconditioning Center Automotive Repair Technician is responsible for performing mechanical inspections, diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on pre-owned vehicles to ensure they meet Long-Lewis quality and safety standards before being offered for sale. This role requires strong diagnostic abilities, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.

What We're Looking For:
  • Preferred 3 years of verifiable automotive repair experience with completion of a trade or technical school program OR 5 years of verifiable automotive repair experience without formal technical training
  • Experience working on multiple vehicle makes and models preferred
  • Diesel repair knowledge is a plus
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining productivity
  • Ability to lift heavy objects
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
What You'll Do:
  • Inspect incoming pre-owned vehicles to identify mechanical concerns
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and drivability issues
  • Perform routine maintenance including oil changes, fluid services, filters, brakes, and suspension work
  • Utilize diagnostic equipment and service information to accurately identify repairs
  • Complete repairs according to manufacturer and dealership standards
  • Document repair work accurately and efficiently
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Work with the reconditioning team to meet production deadlines while maintaining quality standards
