Job description

Logistics Supervisor
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Logistics Supervisor to lead daily logistics operations and ensure customer orders are shipped accurately, efficiently, and on time. This position plays a critical role in coordinating transportation activities, supervising logistics personnel, managing carrier relationships, and supporting production scheduling efforts.
The ideal candidate is a strong leader with excellent communication and problem-solving skills who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and is committed to delivering exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, coach, train, and support logistics coordinators and assigned team members.
  • Coordinate outbound transportation activities to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
  • Build and oversee truckload and multi-stop shipments based on customer orders and inventory availability.
  • Negotiate freight rates and maintain strong relationships with approved carriers.
  • Schedule customer deliveries and resolve shipping issues, delays, and transportation challenges.
  • Monitor order status, inventory levels, and transportation schedules to meet customer expectations.
  • Collaborate with warehouse teams across multiple locations to maximize shipping efficiency.
  • Support production scheduling activities by aligning customer demand, inventory, and manufacturing capacity.
  • Conduct team meetings and communicate operational priorities and updates.
  • Assist with freight claims, expedited shipments, detention charges, and other transportation-related matters.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on freight costs, shipping accuracy, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
  • Foster collaboration between logistics, production, sales, customer service, and warehouse teams.

  • Experience with ERP systems, including Epicor or similar business software, preferred.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
