Job Description
We're looking for enthusiastic individuals who will serve as the initial point of contact for professional CDL-A drivers interested in joining our team. This role involves educating potential candidates about our company culture, equipment, routes, and career opportunities while guiding them through the hiring and onboarding process from the first call to orientation. No prior experience in recruiting or trucking is necessary; we're prioritizing the right attitude, coachability, and a willingness to learn.

  • Confident phone presence, comfortable with high call volumes including cold calls
  • Motivated, coachable, and eager to acquire new skills
  • Highly organized, able to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting
  • Brings a positive attitude and a strong work ethic daily
  • Experience in high-volume sales and meeting minimum quotas is a must

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Recruit, screen, and onboard qualified CDL-A drivers
  • Communicate with prospective drivers via phone, text, and email
  • Source driver candidates through job boards, social media, referrals, cold calling, and industry connections
  • Conduct pre-screen interviews to verify driver qualifications, experience, and availability
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with prospective drivers, ensuring consistent follow-up
  • Guide drivers through the entire hiring and onboarding process
  • Perform initial background screening reports
  • Coordinate onboarding documentation
  • Achieve and surpass weekly, monthly, and quarterly recruiting goals
  • Collaborate closely with recruiting, operations, and leadership teams to support our expansive, active fleet
  • Represent P&S Transportation with integrity, professionalism, and positivity
  • Support driver retention through effective communication and relationship-building

Safety & Compliance Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance with all DOT/FMCSA, safety, and regulatory standards for both prospective and newly hired drivers
  • Coordinate and arrange necessary controlled substance testing

Qualifications
A Successful Recruiter must consistently demonstrate the company's Mission and Values. They must have good oral and written communication skills in order to effectively interact with customers, drivers and other team members in person and on the telephone. They must be customer service-oriented as well as team-oriented and must have good organizational skills. A successful Recruiter must be able to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Finally, they must be able to work a flexible schedule when needed to including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
  • Have knowledge of MVR and DAC reports
  • 1-3 years of experience in transportation, recruiting, or safety required
  • Experience utilizing Microsoft Office Suite including (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook)
  • Previous work experience in customer service or sales is preferred
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Must be detail oriented and have a great interpersonal skill
