Position Summary
The Logistics & Planning Specialist is responsible for coordinating and documenting all shipments of chemicals with vendors, freight companies, customers, and DPG technical service representatives, as well as effective forecasting and production planning.
As the Logistics & Planning Specialist you will plan and schedule shipments in accordance with customer requirements, tracking and monitoring shipments to ensure on-time delivery and resolving any issues or delays that may arise. Effectively analyze current and historical data (tank levels) and build a forecast for DPG products, meeting customer demand and ensuring production efficiency. Coordinate with common carriers on delivery and pick up times, ensuring that a field technician is onsite to receive the delivery. This is a multi-faceted position, requiring consistent planning & analysis of data to determine proper timing for shipping product & most efficient bundling of orders between customers.
  • Assign the chemical delivery specialist and all required equipment for shipments, ensuring optimal routing and resource allocation.
  • Bundle orders with multiple customers, ensuring efficiency of deliveries and reducing freight costs to customers.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies in Logistics.
  • Interdepartmental collaboration to ensure open and efficient lines of communication.
  • Maintain accurate records of shipments, including billing and documentation.
  • Coordinate orders in water treatment accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Enter loads in Logistics Planning System for delivery coordination.
  • Build the production schedule with accuracy at least one week ahead of scheduled delivery date.
  • Prepares and submits reports as directed.
  • Other duties assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management or equivalent experience preferred.
Experience: 2 to5 years of experience in logistics, order processing (bundling), and general office duties.
Skills: Excellent verbal communication skills; Proficiency in computer processing functions and other standard office equipment; ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple tasks; Ability to read, comprehend reports and regulatory documents and explain clearly and concisely to others; Ability to calmly and professionally resolve issues with diplomacy and tact; Ability to work independently with minimal supervision; Strong organizational skills. The ability to succeed in dynamic environments where new information frequently adjusts priorities and deadlines.
Physical Requirements: Visual acuity to read a computer screen and paper documents; close and distance vision, peripheral vision depth perception, ability to adjust focus; hearing acuity to converse with staff and customers in person and by phone; ability to walk, stoop, bend, kneel, and lift and move 10 pounds on a regular basis, up to 25 pounds frequently, and occasionally lift and / or move up to 50 pounds; ability to sit for hours at a time; the physical ability to engage in physically demanding situations such as behavioral interventions or interventions when self-injurious behavior is taking place.
Working Conditions:
This position functions in both indoor and outdoor settings, with exposure to a variety of work environments; which include outside weather conditions and exposure to machinery and equipment with moving parts. Employee may be subject to blood borne pathogens, bio waste and other medically-related factors, with exposure to moderate noise levels.
