Job Opportunity: Logistics Transportation Analyst
Position Overview
  • Work Location: 3 MacArthur Place, Santa Ana, CA, USA
  • Work Schedule: Fully On-Site
  • Assignment Length: 12 + month contract to (hire + multi-extension capability)
  • Rate: 39.00 /hr.
Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Logistics Analyst to join our team for a 12-month assignment. In this role, you will collaborate cross-functionally with Supply Chain Planners, Logistics Planners, Customer Management, and Transportation Operations teams to drive operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
  • Data & System Management: Translate large volumes of data within the Transportation Management System (TMS) and Warehouse Management System (WMS) into actionable systemic analysis. Manage various internal and external systems to accomplish daily, weekly, and monthly tasks.
  • Operations & Problem Solving: Quickly and proactively evaluate and resolve problems that arise while trucks and drivers are in transit. Monitor and adjust today’s and tomorrow’s plans dynamically throughout the day.
  • Vendor & Cost Management: Work directly with 3PLs to resolve customer complaints and issues. Monitor/negotiate transportation costs, contracts, rates, storage fees, and distribution status to ensure low costs with a high level of service.
  • Performance Tracking: Establish and measure KPIs using statistical methods to positively drive on-time delivery performance, warehouse inventory management, and product quality.
  • Strategic Projects: Participate in and/or lead strategic projects related to freight and transportation, implementing process improvements to reduce costs or increase logistics efficiency.
  • Cross-Functional Support: Provide ad-hoc support (documents, report creation, etc.) for the sales, executive, supply chain, finance, accounting, and regulatory teams.
Role Requirements
Education & Experience
  • Degree: Bachelor’s degree or higher REQUIRED.
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in logistics and/or transportation.
  • Industry Knowledge: General knowledge of logistics operations, standard problem identification within the delivery cycle, and load planning/order management experience (a plus).
Technical Skills
  • Strong proficiency in Data Analytics and statistical methods.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and SAP.
  • Hands-on knowledge of Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
Core Competencies
  • Vendor Management: Proven ability to manage 3PLs and maintain positive working relationships with vendors, suppliers, shippers, and customers.
  • Communication & Negotiation: Excellent written, verbal, and negotiation skills; ability to work effectively with remote teammates.
  • Organization & Agility: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously in an open office environment.
