National Manager, Vehicle Logistics Planning

Location: Irvine, CA

Compensation: $142,000 - $162,000 base salary plus eligibility for discretionary bonus programs (subject to compensation study upon candidate selection)


Overview

GLOVIS America, a global third-party logistics provider headquartered in Irvine, California, is seeking a National Manager, Vehicle Logistics Planning to lead enterprise-level finished vehicle logistics planning operations across Hyundai, Kia, Genesis, and Emerging Accounts throughout North America.

This leadership role is responsible for overseeing demand planning, network optimization, logistics performance management, and customer service strategy within a fast-paced automotive logistics environment. The position will play a critical role in transforming demand signals into executable logistics plans while balancing transportation capacity, service performance, operational efficiency, and cost management.

This opportunity is ideal for a strategic supply chain leader seeking executive visibility, large-scale operational ownership, and the ability to influence transportation planning and logistics network strategy across North America.


Key Responsibilities

Strategic Planning & Operational Leadership

  • Lead finished vehicle logistics planning activities across rail, trucking, port, and distribution networks
  • Oversee integration of demand planning, logistics planning, customer service, and performance management functions
  • Develop scalable planning strategies aligned with operational capacity, customer demand, and network efficiency
  • Establish a culture focused on accountability, continuous improvement, operational discipline, and data-driven decision making
  • Lead and develop high-performing teams supporting forecasting, analytics, and logistics operations


Demand Planning & Forecasting

  • Own end-to-end demand planning activities including forecasting, allocation planning, and scenario modeling
  • Translate production schedules, sales forecasts, and market demand signals into executable logistics plans
  • Improve forecast accuracy and planning visibility through analytics, reporting, and cross-functional collaboration
  • Lead S&OP and Integrated Business Planning alignment efforts with internal stakeholders and OEM partners
  • Support planning strategies that address demand fluctuations, capacity constraints, and market shifts


Network Optimization & Capacity Planning

  • Oversee vehicle flow planning and transportation network optimization initiatives
  • Identify opportunities to improve throughput, reduce dwell time, and maximize asset utilization
  • Develop transportation capacity strategies supporting seasonal volume changes and business growth
  • Evaluate operational scenarios and contingency plans related to supply chain disruptions and network constraints
  • Align operational execution with customer requirements and service expectations


Performance Management & Analytics

  • Define and monitor operational KPIs including forecast accuracy, dwell time, wholesale performance, transportation costs, and service metrics
  • Lead development of reporting dashboards and performance visibility tools
  • Analyze operational trends and implement corrective action plans supporting continuous improvement
  • Provide executive leadership with strategic operational insights and planning recommendations
  • Drive operational efficiency initiatives through data analysis and process improvement


Customer Service & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Oversee customer service support for Hyundai, Kia, Genesis, and Emerging Accounts
  • Partner closely with customers to understand operational challenges and develop logistics solutions
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Supply Chain, Business Development, and Customer Service teams
  • Communicate operational risks, planning assumptions, and performance updates to leadership and stakeholders
  • Ensure customer priorities and operational capabilities remain aligned across the logistics network


Required Experience & Skills Experience

  • 10โ€“15 years of direct experience in Logistics, Supply Chain, Customer Service, and/or Performance Management required
  • 13โ€“18 years of related experience preferred
  • 4โ€“7 years of leadership or supervisory experience required
  • Experience within automotive logistics, finished vehicle logistics, or transportation operations strongly preferred
  • Experience leading cross-functional operational and planning teams required
