Job description

Position Summary
The Operations Manager owns the reliable daily performance and phased transformation of NURA USA's warehouse and logistics operations. Reporting to the COO, this position oversees the Warehouse team (4-6 ppl in CA) and inbound & outbound Logistics team (4-6 ppl, in the US and overseas) to ensure products are received, stored, managed, and delivered safely, accurately, efficiently, and on time while supporting exceptional customer service and operational excellence.
The Operations Manager is accountable for warehouse performance, inventory accuracy, logistics execution, transportation coordination, and diagnoses the current state, builds a prioritized roadmap, and delivers measurable improvements in safety, service, quality, inventory accuracy, capacity, productivity, and cost.. Working closely with Purchasing, Customer Service, QA/QC, Regulatory, Sales, Finance, and R&D, this position ensures operational priorities are aligned with customer commitments and company objectives. It is expected that the candidate will be able to conduct a current-state assessment, develop phased roadmap for continued improvement, identify and execute process redesign, lead systems implementation, enforce operating discipline, and deliver measurable benefits while protecting daily service.
This role is expected to lead proactively by anticipating operational challenges before they impact the business, taking ownership of results, communicating risks and recovery plans early, and fostering a culture built on accountability, teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement. While the primary responsibility is to lead through the Warehouse Manager and Logistics Manager, the Operations Manager is expected to remain actively engaged in the operation and remain visibly engaged and step into the operation when required to protect safety, service, or business continuity, while building systems and team capability that prevent recurring dependence on escalation.".
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The responsibilities listed below are representative of the position and are not intended to be all-inclusive.
Warehouse Operations
  • Oversee the execution of all warehouse operations, including receiving, put-away, inventory storage, inventory movements, picking, packing, shipping, transfers, and returns.
  • Ensure warehouse operations are performed safely, accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with company procedures.
  • Monitor warehouse organization, capacity, housekeeping, equipment utilization, and workflow efficiency.
  • Ensure customer orders are fulfilled accurately and shipped on time.
  • Monitor warehouse productivity and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and service levels.
  • Provide direct operational leadership and support when necessary to maintain business continuity and customer commitments.

Plan and lead smart WMS implementation with strong leadership in requirement gathering, process mapping, data preparation, interface design, testing/training/change management, stabilization, and continued improvements
Inventory Management
  • Ensure accurate inventory through disciplined inventory control practices and timely ERP transactions.
  • Oversee cycle count programs, inventory reconciliations, and annual physical inventories.
  • Ensure inventory is properly managed using FIFO/FEFO principles and company procedures.
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Monitor warehouse utilization, slotting, inventory aging, and storage capacity to maximize operational efficiency.

Logistics & Transportation
  • Oversee and manage domestic transportation activities including parcel, LTL, FTL, expedited shipments, customer pickups, and transfer orders.
  • Coordinate inbound deliveries with Purchasing and Logistics to ensure efficient receiving and warehouse scheduling.
  • Monitor carrier performance, freight costs, and delivery service levels while identifying opportunities for cost savings and operational improvements.
  • Resolve freight claims, shipment delays, delivery issues, and transportation exceptions promptly.
  • Ensure shipping documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with customer and regulatory requirements.

Leadership Expectations
The Manager of Operations is expected to lead by example and create a culture of ownership, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Success in this role is measured not only by operational results, but by the ability to build a high-performing team and consistently deliver reliable execution.

  • Lead, coach, mentor and develop Warehouse Manager, Logistics Manager and their respective teams.
  • Establish clear operational priorities, performance expectations, and accountability throughout the Operations department.

  • Collaborate effectively with Purchasing, Customer Service, QA/QC, Regulatory, Sales, Finance, and R&D to achieve company objectives.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve safety, quality, inventory accuracy, productivity, customer service, and operational efficiency through effective leadership and disciplined execution.

Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
Experience
  • Ideal candidate should have 8+ years of progressive experience, including 3+ years leading managers or multiple functions, and require at least one material transformation delivered without unacceptable service disruption. Allow exceptional equivalent experience.Demonstrated leadership experience managing warehouse and logistics teams.
  • Experience with inventory management, transportation coordination, and ERP systems.
  • Experience within food ingredients, food manufacturing/distribution, dietary supplements, nutraceuticals, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, or another regulated, lot-controlled, shelf-life-sensitive environment strongly preferred
  • Strong track record and ownership of operational SOPs, standard work, visual controls, training/certification, layered or routine audits, root-cause analysis, corrective/preventive action, and change control management.
  • Experience in workforce planning, scheduling, cross-training, productivity/overtime control, slotting, layout, storage strategy, equipment utilization/maintenance coordination, capacity modeling, and capital investment recommendations.
  • Expertise in international and domestic freight/labor cost control, carrier/3PL scorecards, rate and contract support, business cases, ROI tracking, and vendor performance management, as applicable.

Technical Skills
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management and logistics.Demonstrated leadership of an ERP/WMS or comparable operational-technology implementation, including requirements, process design, master data, integration, testing, training, cutover, stabilization, adoption, and benefits realization.. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Outlook, Word and Teams.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills.
