Job description

JAS is an international, non-asset-based supply chain services and solutions company. Our services include air and ocean freight forwarding, contract logistics, customs brokerage, distribution, inbound logistics, truckload brokerage and other supply chain management services, including consulting, the coordination of purchase orders and customized management services.
This role will assist the Logistics Manager and/or General Manager in overseeing the daily operations for inventory, distribution, transportation, or other processes that support the achievement of JAS Contract Logistics' goals and KPI's for product delivery and customer satisfaction. This role will be responsible for managing a team that can consist of supervisor, leads, and specialist level of employees to achieve the goals of the branch, and to ensure safety compliance and ISO requirements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Supervising day-to-day operations in the warehouse for multiple clients across all warehouse departments
  • Supervising the receiving, shipping, handling, distribution, processing and storage of all products
  • Managing inventory of client products, running daily cycle counts, and overseeing physical inventory check
  • Leading daily team huddles to update employees on daily tasks, orders, priorities, challenges, and successes
  • Delegating tasks within the warehouse to account supervisors and leads into scalable workloads
  • Managing value added logistics projects for clients within the facility
  • Ensuring quality management metrics are adhered to within the facility as they relate to client products
  • Overseeing HR administrative matters such as time off and performance management
  • Monitoring staffing needs while being directly involved in recruitment, performance management, and performance development
  • Communicating with local staffing agencies regarding temporary staff
  • Using forecast information from clients to identify staffing and resource needs for operation
  • Communicating regularly with all clients in the operation and resolving issues as needed
  • Participating in and overseeing business reviews with clients
  • Communicating customer needs and updates effectively to the logistics department and all employees to ensure orders are completed according to customer requirements
  • Implementing and monitoring metrics to measure individual and departmental
    performance
  • Reviewing labor management reports to ensure staffing costs are aligned with client needs and branch metrics
  • Adhering to and enforcing corporate policies and safety standards set by company and OSHA
  • Performing additional duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • This job does have supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 4+ years' experience in 3PL warehouse environment
  • 4+ years' experience supervising teams and projects in a 3PL warehouse environment
  • Experience supervising shipping, receiving, picking, packing, and distribution
    operations
  • Experience communicating with customers
  • Experience using labor management tools and reports
  • Intermediate experience in MS Office products (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • College degree or equivalent experience / Experience using WMS and Cargowise /Bilingual
  • Forklift certification or other certifications related to logistics and supply chain
    operations

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • This role requires individuals to talk, hear, use hands, stand, walk, sit, and see.
  • Ability to lift, lower, and maneuver packages between 20 and 70 lbs.
  • This position involves heavy lifting and carrying, stooping, bending, kneeling and reaching.
