Global Freight and Transportation Operations Execution Specialist
Key Responsibilities
This is a Carrier Management Role responsible for ensuring our Logistics Service Providers (LSP) performs at the agreed level of execution. It requires a broad level of understanding in various transportation networks (Air, Ocean, Ground, and Parcel Shipping) and familiarity with freight flow (Order Management, Warehousing, Transport Compliance, Packaging, etc). This role ensures the effective execution of the Applied Materials Silicon Product Group Global Freight and Transportation network through communication externally with LSP and internally with Buyers and Supplier Managers. Specifically, the role will be responsible for the following activities:
• Service Level Performance Management: Escalation Management, On Time Performance, Missing, Wrong, & Damage PPM
• Cross Dock Management
• MBR Participation, Carrier Management
• New Volume Onboarding
Defining Global Processes
All established processes must be applicable across the globe
• Communication cadence with shipper/suppliers/carriers/within Applied
• Miscommunication leading to carrier failure is considered a process break (our responsibility)
Manage carrier SOWs
• Know & uphold our expectations from our carriers
• Work with CBM team if an expectation is not met
Establishing clear & achievable SLAs/KPIs
• Review transit with carriers
• Review agreed transit time as per pricing schedule
• Work with CBMs on Performance Plans
Internal Promotions
• Creating visuals/documents on carrier expectations
• Covering end-to-end process from EDI to Freight Payment.
• Collaboration with Connectivity and Finance Teams
• Connect with Buyers/ Logistics Coordinators to align their expectations from our carriers
• Be an escalation point only! We manage our carriers, we are not internal customer service
Carrier Management
Manage Operational Risks
• Track company-wide closures
• Track market conditions (port strikes, holiday disruptions, etcs)
• Work with carriers on contingency plans for expected delays
Driving Continuous Performance Improvements
• Drive consistency on performance
• Improve both gross & net scores
• Identifying areas of improvement
• Manage MBR Action Trackers
POC and Escalation Point for CrossDock
• Regular meetings with Material Project Managers to work with shippers on proper selection of Mode of Transport
• Regular meetings with CrossDock service provider

• Support with issues between CrossDock service provider and transport service provider
New Program Launches (i.e CrossDock)
• Support with SOP/SOW creations
• Establish expectations (with service provider and CBM Team)
• Transition Manager for any carrier change projects
Minimum Requirements: Education & Experience
• Bachelor's Degree
• Relevant years of experience in Logistics and Transportation Operations
Knowledge & Skills:
• Communication skills at all levels.
• Demonstrate sense of urgency.
• Accustomed to taking accountability for ensuring that projects are completed on time.
• Identifies and resolves technical, operational, and organizational problems.

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.
For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
