About the Role
The Operations Director is responsible for leading and optimizing all aspects of operational performance across manufacturing support, supply chain, logistics, project execution, and administrative operations. This role ensures seamless coordination across the full operational lifecycle-from order intake through delivery-while driving efficiency, cost control, customer satisfaction, and scalable growth.
Reporting to the VP of Global Operations, this position serves as a key operational leader supporting execution across domestic and international operations, helping align regional execution with global business objectives. The Operations Director will build high-performing teams, strengthen processes, and drive operational excellence across the organization.
What You'll Do
Operational Leadership & Execution
  • Lead day-to-day operations in support of company objectives and strategic priorities
  • Oversee the full operational lifecycle: order intake, planning, procurement, production coordination, logistics, and delivery
  • Drive on-time, in-full (OTIF) performance across all projects and customer commitments
  • Develop and implement scalable operating procedures, workflows, and process controls
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, throughput, quality, and lead-time reduction

Supply Chain & Logistics
  • Oversee supply chain planning, procurement support, and logistics execution
  • Manage inbound and outbound transportation, including international shipments and import/export coordination
  • Optimize freight strategies and monitor transportation costs
  • Ensure compliance with customs regulations, trade laws, and import/export requirements
  • Develop contingency plans to mitigate disruptions related to suppliers, tariffs, delays, and regulatory changes
  • Evaluate vendor performance and maintain strong supplier relationships

Project Management & Cross-Functional Coordination
  • Ensure project execution functions effectively as the hub for order fulfillment and customer delivery
  • Maintain visibility over project milestones, risks, and deliverables
  • Oversee governance for order intake, change management, and release processes
  • Partner closely with Engineering, Sales, Finance, Manufacturing, and Customer Support to align operational execution
  • Support escalation management and proactive resolution of operational issues

Financial & Performance Management
  • Manage operational budgets and monitor cost performance
  • Drive productivity and cost reduction initiatives
  • Establish, track, and improve operational KPIs
  • Analyze operational data and recommend improvements to improve service, reduce cost, and increase efficiency
  • Support forecasting and resource planning activities with the VP of Global Operations

Compliance, Risk & Audit
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety requirements, and regulatory standards
  • Support audit readiness for internal, customer, and external audits
  • Identify operational risks and implement corrective and preventive actions
  • Support business continuity and contingency planning efforts

Leadership & People Management
  • Lead, coach, and develop cross-functional operational teams, including Logistics, Project Management, and Administrative support functions
  • Set clear expectations, accountability standards, and development plans
  • Conduct performance reviews and support leadership development
  • Foster a collaborative, results-oriented culture focused on accountability and continuous improvement
  • Partner with HR on talent development, workforce planning, and employee relations matters

What We're Looking For
  • Associate's degree or higher in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or related field preferred
  • In lieu of degree, 15+ years of progressive experience in operations, supply chain, logistics, or manufacturing leadership required
  • 10+ years of leadership experience in operations, supply chain, logistics, or manufacturing environments
  • Experience managing complex domestic and global supply chain operations
  • Strong background in logistics, inventory control, project execution, and process optimization
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and driving operational performance improvements
  • Experience in manufacturing and/or solar or industrial environments preferred
  • Strategic and hands-on operational leadership
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end supply chain and operational processes
  • Advanced financial and business acumen
  • Data-driven decision making with strong KPI management discipline
  • Excellent problem-solving and risk management skills
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • High sense of urgency, integrity, and accountability

Preferred Experience:
  • ERP/MRP systems experience (SAP preferred)

Work Environment & Travel
  • Primarily onsite in manufacturing and office environment
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as business needs require
  • May occasionally be required to walk warehouse/manufacturing floor and lift up to 25 pounds
