Detailed Description

The Transportation Specialist coordinates and directs the movement of vehicles, equipment, and personnel using transportation management and optimization software. This position supports internal and broker drivers, manages high-volume logistics operations, and serves as a key liaison between drivers, management, and customers. The role focuses on safety, efficiency, regulatory compliance, and continuous process improvement within NexTier's supply chain operations.

Job Requirements (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)

  • Proficiency in transportation management systems (TMS), Shaleapps, and NexTier logistics software
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage large volumes of simultaneous deliveries (proppant, equipment, chemicals, etc.)
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations, HOS requirements, and driver endorsements
  • Strong communication skills with drivers, customers, and internal stakeholders
  • Ability to prepare logistics analysis and operational reports
  • Demonstrated focus on safety, quality, and regulatory compliance
  • Ability to evaluate driver performance and resolve customer issues effectively
  • Proficient in Windows-based systems and data entry

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
  • 2 years of logistics or transportation experience (required)
